Check out Wake Co., N.C.. I am related to the Beaver(s) in GA. also. Being related to Strickland's from Wake Co., N.C. is how I came across Alsey Beaver. A Carla Tate compiled records to make a book in which I ordered. It crossed my mind if maybe this Alsey and a Fendol, also listed were kin to those in GA. Osburn/ Ausburn Beaver, John Marion Beaver, Johnny Clayborn Beavers, John Herman Beavers are my list of grand and great grand fathers. My e-mail is tbcoggins@yahoo.com if you have any more questions. Hope this helps!

Ella:

Tim and I share a mutual interest in the Beavers line of your Mother-in-law, although his is certainly more intimate. According to my records, Alvin Beavers (1889; VA) had five sons, who would logically be your husband's uncles. I am trying to find out if any of these brothers had sons of their own.

If you are not aware of the significance of that question to your family research, I would be more than happy to explain.

Thanks.

Stan Bevers

scbevers@comcast.net

I am working on the Beavers and Kings of Prince William. Do you have any King's in your line. I have hit a wall on the Kings. Thanks Ella

Patricia Max

Our Marshall Beavers was the father of my wife, Joan Headley
Marshall:
Born 30 OCT 1900 @ Prince Williams VA
Died 22 APR 1984 @ BALTIMORE MD
Married Elizabeth Anna Marie von Munchow (2)

Son of Sampson Beavers
Born 2 Nov 1860 @ Prince Williams VA
Died 21 Sept 1929 @ Prince Williams VA
Married Cora E Kelley.

Ancestry.com has a transcription error between the 1860 and 1870 censuses in that the John Jordan Beavers (father of Sampson Beavers via a 2nd marriage) lists the family of John Jordan Beavers as BEAVERS, in 1860 and BLAVERS IN 1870.

Close examination of enlargement of 1870 census clearly shows the L to be a E, ergo, same Beavers family. Several first names were the same on both 1860 and 1870, supporting the fact that Beavers was misspelled in 1870.

Our search goes back to a John (R) Beavers.

Need anymore, drop me a line.

Wade Headley
I don't believe the family in Cherokee Co., GA is Alsey Beavers' family. I found Alsey and 3rd wife Frances in Cass Co., GA in 1850. I believe Alsey had 3 wives, Susannah, Nancy West whom he married in 1826 in Fayette Co., GA, and Frances. The children listed in Cherokee Co., GA do not match any of the children I have for Alsey. In 1850 the children listed with them were Martha age 15, Elbert age 12, and George W. age 11.

Patricia Max

I am looking for a Mary (Greenleaf) Beaver(s). She would be about 70 yrs old now if still alive. Some believe she went to Colorado from Ohio and was possibly killed in a plane crash in the late 1970's. Some believe she may have had a son.
Her father's name was Clayborn Garvin Greenleaf born in West Virginia.
Clayborn's sister was my husband's grandmother. What became of Mary is not known. At one time she lived in a children's home in Lake County, Ohio.
Any help would be appreciated.

Alsey Beavers married Susannah Dunnahoo in 1808 in Elbert County, GA. They were my ggg-grandparents. Most people state that Susannah died ca. 1826. I have found this to be incorrect. Susannah had a daughter named Susan Beavers in 1830 (my gg-grandmother) Susannah D. Beavers lived in Cherokee County, GA in 1850 with several of her children, including Susan. There name is mis-spelled as "Beavens" when the census was transcribed. Susan Beavers married James Henderson in 1852 in Cherokee County, GA. James died in 1862, Richmond, VA. I have paperwork stating that his Brother-in-law, John T. Beavers, buried him in Richmond.
This is a mystery, did Alsey leave Susannah and their children, or are there two different Beavers family with the same names?
Let me here from you,
Stephanie

ISO the graves of Moses C. and Laura Whitney Beavers in WV!!

I am in search of the grave markers of Moses and Laura Beavers, ancestors of my husband, who I understand to be buried in Maplewood Cemetery in Kingwood, WV. It's a large cemetery and I have no idea where to begin looking! If anyone is aware of how I can access records for the cemetery or the actual locations of the gravestones, any info is much appreciated! caprikaren@comcast.net

Ella,

I also have the following information from the federal census for 1850 and 1860 PWC Va.Virginia Davis married JJ Beavers on March 12,1856.Susannah in the 1860 census was Virginia's daughter, the remaining were Nancy Ann's children. My G.Grandfather Sampson was not in the census since it was taken in the summer prior to his birth on November 2,1860 (Source Ancestry.com)

1850 Census

JJ Beavers (43)
Ann Beavers (37)
Mary "" (19)
John T "" (17)
James M "" (12)
Nancy A "" (20)
Albert "" (6)
Lucian "" (2)

1860 Census

JJ Beavers (53)
Virginia "" (29)
John T "" (26)
Albert "" (15)
Lucian "" (12)
Rufus "" (8)
Susannah "" (3)

BTW, I'm logged in on my Dad's account, Tim (theadley@af.umaryland.edu) my e-mail address.

Ella, that is true but John Jordan had a second wife (My GG Grandmother) Virginia C Davis, daughter of Warren and Catherine Davis. Sampson (My G Grandfather) was the son of John Jordan and Virginia Beavers.I know from doing my research that there was another Sampson Beavers that was younger than my Sampson in the census records. My Sampson was born 1860 and died 1929 and is buried on what was once the family farm along with Virginia and John Jordan Beavers. Ron Turner, who has done extensive research on PWC families provided me with a photograph of the grave marker. Thank you for the information.
