Thanks for writing. You must be a part of the SD Bebensee's. I have a lot of your info from about 15 years ago. I have never been able to connect Theodore with my family that settled in Atlantic Ia. I have been getting most of my info from JoAnne B Parker. I havent worked on it for the past 11 years as I am disabled. I may be able to get back to it someday. I was very surprised to actually see a surname board with the Bebensee name. Pleasantly though. I'm also a Bebensee through my maternal grandmother. My great grandfather was Louie (louis carl) Bebensee. One of Theordore and Wilhelmia's son's.

Looking for info on Johan Heinrich Jurs, married Marie Auguste Catherine Christine Bebensee, children were Erna Marie Henriette Jurs born 1899, Rudolph Henry Jurs born 1900, George R Jurs born 1901 and Marie C. Jurs born 1906 all in Wnadsbeck-Hamburg, Germany. Came to US in 1907, settled in Westchester County NY. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I am wondering if you may be the person that posted a family tree that included Gustav Bebensee, Born in Hamburg, Germany and died April 1974 - if you are - you are missinformed - Gustav Bebensee and Anna (Habben)Bebensee were my grandparents - they are not related to the family tree that is posted on Ancestry.com - Gustav Bebensee's parents were - Paul Heinrich Gustav Bebensee and Maria Charlotte Anna (Sievers) Bebensee. I have copies of the church records from Wadnsbeck, Germany.

I have been researching my wife's ancestry, my wife’s 4xgreat grand father, was Asmus Schlapkohl, from Tokendorf, born about 1754. I was wondering if you had siblings listed for your ancestor, Peter Schlapkohl, born 1752 in Tokendorf.

I believe Asmus would have been a great uncle to Anna Margaret Henrietta. If you have any information of the Schlapkohl family that would be useful, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi i was wondering what and who you know as a bebensee. My mom's side of the family is all bebensee's and that is how i know all of them. because i am doing a bebensee family tree and all that. I'm also researching my Bebensee family roots.
My grandmother is Verna (Bebensee) Underwood,
born Anna Verna Sophia Bebensee on June 5, 1915
in Glenwood, Iowa. She was the eldest of 8
children born to Frederick Henry (Frederich
Heinrich)Bebensee and Louise Margaretha Bichel.
Frederick was born June 8,1888 in Omaha, NE.
and he died July 29, 1973 in Glenwood, Iowa.
On Feb. 25, 1914, he married Louise Bichel who
was born June 24, 1895 and died April 12, 1987
in Glenwood, Iowa. Frederick's family came from
Germany and settled in the Omaha, NE area. I
noticed that your last name is Severs. In my
Bebensee information, I have an Eileen Louise
Severs who married Kenton Gus Rohrberg. Is this
any relation? I plan to check out your website
immediately. This is the first time in many
years of searching my family tree that I've
actually found the Bebensee name. It doesn't
seem to be a very common name. My e-mail is

I just returned today from a two week trip to CO and NE visiting family. We also spent some time with my paternal grandparents (my grandmother is a Bebensee. We talked for hours about the Bebensees and other branches of their family. While I don't have a Detlef in my Bebensee tree, there are many Detlef names in several other branches of the tree. The dates and locations also fit right in with my info, so it's most likely we're related. I'm very eager to compare notes with you, especially since the visit with my grandmother. REJUVINATION!!!!!! I haven't tried before to find out about my other relatives in the US or back in Germany. When I read your reply, I wanted to right back. Although the names were not familiar with my family here is my family. My grandfather, Detlef Bebensee, and his family came from Germany sometime around 1860 or so and settled between Treynor and Council Bluffs Iowa. He married my grandmother, Anna Marie Volkens (Bebensee) in the early 1900's. They had only one child, my dad, Bernie Bebensee. My parents believe we still have relatives back in Germany and possible other parts of the US. If any of these names have appeared in your research, please e-mail me back. Thanks.
