My Great Great Grandfather came from Prussia in about 1845 and settled in Fort Wayne Indiana. Born abt 1822 coming to America in about 1845 and married in 1848. I cannot find a good source of German Ancestry to find his birth place and/or parents, siblings, etc. Becker is such a common name and so was Christian. His married certificated used Baker. Is there a good source (in English) that I can find more information on Beckers and their migration to America

Gustave and Charles Becker of Germany and the Scott Co. Iowa

I am looking for any information relating to the families of Gustave Becker (1848) or Charles Becker (1850). The two were from Draschen in Silesia. Their parents were Karl Becker and Anna Rosina Wahnelt. Their four sisters were Mrs. Louise Herald, Mrs. Bertha Gerblth, Mrs. Emily Dittschlag, and Mrs. Anna Seiler. I know that Charles was the third born, so one of the sisters is between the boys or the oldest. Their families remained in Germany while the boys came to the United States in 1866. They settled in Scott County, Iowa, primarily in the Davenport area, though Gustave moved around a bit and traveled often.

Charles married Christine Martens, and they had 7 children: Bertha, Amelia, Charles, Fritz, Gustave, Anna, and Carl. Charles and Gustave (the kids of Charles and Christine) both died as young children in 1886.

Gustave married Wilhelmine Ruehle, and they had 6 children: Oswald, Lena, Alice, Celia, Louisa, and Gertrude.

I would like any information on the family in Germany or the descendants of Gustave and Charles. The history of the two brothers is well documented, but little if anything is said of their children.

Jacob Becker of Arzheim Born 1871

I am looking for information on my great, great grandfather Jacob Becker. I know he came from the Arzheim area of Germany very close to Koblenz. He crossed through Ellis Island August 8, 1905 with his wife and children.

I know they went to St. Louis, Missouri and then homesteaded in Texas.

He and his wife Kathrina (Steinwarz maiden name)had many children.
I was told that Jacob Becker was an adventurer and would leave his wife and children to run the farm while he went off to do his adventuring.

I was told that he was finally run off of the property in Texas in about 1911-1916.

I want to know any history or geneology on him such as parents, siblings, etc. Also any history after he left his family in Texas. I can find no record of him in the US or leaving the US.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Saida/Sarah (Parsons) Becker, wife of Oscar Becker, photo taken abt 1905

I have a postcard photograph of “Mary Parsons Heller, Christine Parsons Nash; and Saida Parsons Becker – she married Oscar Becker – they were sisters of Henry Parsons”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1905, and each of the sisters appears to be in their 30s.

I found a Parsons family in the 1870 census for Dale (Outagamie Co.) WI, showing parents Fred (39) and Albertine (32), with Anna (5), Elizabeth (4), Mary (3), and son Charles (1), so probably Sarah was born after 1870. I received direct information that at least two of the sisters Mary, Christine and Sarah were teachers, and that two of their brothers worked for Walgreens in Appleton, WI.

In the 1900 census for Manitowoc, WI, there is an Oscar Becker, 33, with wife Sahra, 27, and her date of birth was Sept 1872, and I assume this is the same lady as in the photo with her sisters.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Sarah Parsons Becker.

Searching for Birth family of Gladys Becker (1924) Becker's from Lexington, Illinois

My grandmother was adopted and we are trying to locate her birth family. We know that her birth name was Gladys Becker born in 1924. We know that her birth mother's last name was Becker from a Becker family living in Lexington, Illinois. We know that her birth mother was musically inclined and had been at a music school in Chicago. I am assuming this was post high school.

She became pregnant from a student she was dating there and neither one were ready to be parents so my grandmother was put up for adoption. We believe her father was of Greek decent but that is all we know.

Between these two musically inclined people my grandmother was a fabulous pianist. :) We would like to know more about her birth family and if anyone thinks that this sounds like it may be linked to your family please let me know!

Henry Becker, from Germany, lived St. Louis area, children born abt 1881-1883

I am looking for information on a great grandfather named Henry Becker who was from the St. Louis area. I know he came from Germany and married a woman named Elizabeth ( possibly Neu or New). They had at least two children: Lena Becker b 27 May 1883 and Mary b <1881>. Mary Becker married a William Edward Weir of St. Louis. I believe his family may have run a produce company in St. Louis. When Lena died in 1920, the obituary lists mother Elizabeth as living in Kansas City, Missouri and Mary Weir as living in St. Louis. There is no mention of father Henry. I am brick walled and any help that someone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

George Becker b.1849 LeHavre, France & Family

I am trying to locate information on the George Becker family, who lived in the Okeana/New Haven/Shandon areas of southern Ohio in the late 1800's. There were 13 children (10 of whom I have names), and include Katherine, Frank, Margaret, Ada, Mary, Lucy, Anna, Ida, George Harlan, and Gertrude, born from 1883 - 1895. Some family members have used the Americanized version of their surname (Baker). The father, George, was married to Gertrude Landwehr (b. 1858).

George Peter Becker settled in Beaver Co, PA in the 1700's

Just want to tell people that there are web sites out
there which are inaccurate when dealing with George Peter Becker
(Baker) who settled in Beaver Co, PA in the 1700's. He is known to have at least
5 children, George, Peter, Jacob, Henry and Elizabeth. He may have
had more. Only the child George's line is it really been researched.
The other children have not really been researched that I am aware of.

One problem is that Peter is confused with Philip Peter who is a
Shenandoah, VA Becker/Baker. Philip Peter's son Anthony I came
to Beaver Co, PA with his children and his line stayed there for
several generations. That is what caused the confusion for other
researchers.
