This is my story as it was told to me by my mother. John C. Beckman b. 1824 d. 1905 was aboard ship enroute to America. He met and fell in love with a woman named Rachael Mueller Duffert b 1843 d 1914 who had two children, WIlliam Henry b1864 d 1939 & Frederick Theodore b 1867 d 1936. When they landed in America they were a family and departed ship under the Beckman name. There were other children that came along by the name of Charles b1874 d 1954 Frank 1873 d1957, Walter(no info) bertha 1884 d 1961.
William married Ida Randall and had a child named Fern b1900. Ida died in 1902 and is buried in Avondale Cemetery Flint Mich. Wm married Cora Shultz/Misner in 1903. The story on Cora is that she was adopted when she was a young child by the Misner's. No proof exists however to consider this true. It was written in a note from Mable the next to oldest child of William concerning this adoption.
William & Cora's children are Fern, Mable, Harold, Edward, Rachael, Leona, & Mildred. They lived in Flint & Burr Oak, Mich and Howe Indiana.
John C.Beckman came Mechlenburg Germany and his obit says he has brothers there.
