Slovakia town of SECOVCE /Galszecs/.Had some family in Florida /Tampa/,also Pennsylvania and Strongville.Father's name was Stefan /Istvan/ and mother's was Julia.Are there any relaatives connected to this family?

I live and work now in Washington D.C.(Falls Church, VA)
I am granddaughter of Peter Beda, who passed away in maybe 25 years ago. I know he had brothers and some family emigrated in 1930.
My dad is still alive, he is son of Peter Beda, he lives in Slovakia. Place of his birth and all his uncles was Dlha nad Oravou, in Slovakia.

My father name is Jan Beda, his father name is Peter Beda.
I have son and he has same eyes like my father, I would be happy to find someone from my dad's family, his sister Maria passed away in Dlha nad Oravou /in Slovakia/ last year.

I have some insights into the Beda's in America. I am related to one of the five Beda brothers who came to America after the Civil War. My great-grandfather, George Beda, owned a peanut plantation in Petersburg, VA, where the Battle of the Crater took place. I have a few photos available.

Hello, nice to hear from you. It was a pleasant surprise. I do remember you but it has probably been YEARS now. Heidi and my brother Mike joined the US Marines and just recently finsihed their 4 year term so they now live in Minnesota. Heidi is married and has a daughter Kailee, also expecting another. I just recently graduated from broadcasting in college and am working in Toronto. I dont know much about the Beda history so anything interesting you could tell me would be great!

Hi. Got your message. Your dad, Pat, is my 2nd cousin as his dad and mine were 1st cousins. I too live in T.B. The uncle I'm looing for went to the U.S. in the 1920's. I taught your sister Heidi at St. Mary's in the early 1980's at St. Mary's. Gail Beda

Well, thank you for your message! It's so great to know something more about "our" surname. The only thing I know about my ancestry is that my grandfather ( Peter Beda) came to Brazil from Germany before the Second War.
