Dear Barbara,

I am Mildred Jeske Anderson, great granddaughter of Edward Ruthven Bedow. My cousin, Charles H. Bedow, of Lavaca, TX has lately called me about what I know about our ancestors, and I gave him all info that I had at that time. I have found a little more info online.

This is the info that I gave to Charles:
1870 Census, Warren County Pennsylvania,Town of Tidioute. Page 1 Line 31 First day of June, 1870

Bedow, Edward R.:Head of household; 38 years of age; was a teamster; born in Vermont.

Bedow, Sarah M.:Wife;keepshouse; 28 years old;born in New York.

Children:

Helen J.; age 8;born in Pennsylvania (J may be for "Jane" as my mother talked of her aunt Jane who was a doctor and never married).
William Henry.; age 7;born in Pennsylvania (William was my grandfather; he used the name of "Henry, or Hank".
Emma Francis; age 4; born in Pennsylvania.
John W; age 1; born in Pennsylvania.

1900 Census; Morrison County, Minnesota; Belle Prairie Township;Vol. 34 Ed94 sheet 7;line 11.

Bedow, Edward R.; Head; born March 1832; age 68; born in Vermont; both his father and mother were born in New York; farmer, owns his farm; married 40 years.

Bedow, Sara; wife; forn February, 1842; age 58; she had 12 children but only 7 were alive at that time;she was born in New York, her father was born in New York, her mother was born in Vermont.

Grace; daughter; born November 1883; age 16; born in Pennsylvania; her father was born in Vermont, her mother in New York; was married to Henry Betner; age 23, who was born June,1876 in Minnesota; his father and mother were born in Germany; a day laborer.

Patrick; born September 1880; age 19; unmarried; was born in Pennsylvania; his father was born in Vermont; his mother in New York;day laborer

Berthie (Bertha); daughter; born November, 1885; age 15; born in Minnesota; father born in Vermont, mother born in New York.

My grandfather, William Henry Bedow's Death Certificate states: That he died September 1941;was widowed; he had been born March 27, 1862 in the state of Pennsylvania;his father's name was William Bedow who was born in Pennsylvania; his mother;s name was Alta Barnhart who was born in Pennsylvania. This info was given by his daugher, Charlotte (Lottie) Johnson and there are errors, just as there are on Edwin Bedow's death certificate where the info was given by William Henry Bedow.
