Arthur Houle age 28 yrs (parents Joseph P and Julia St Louis) marries Marie Laura Emma GIRARD age 21 yrs (parents Antoinne and Emma Giroux). Priest notes Ms. Girard from Rockland Ontario.
Napanee Ontario R.C. church records
June 23 1918
Rita Magdeline( Baptism) (of unknown parents) adopted by Arthur Houle and wife Laura BEDORE of Deseronto.
Ontario Marriage records show Arthur's wife as Marie Laura Emma BEDARD.
Arthur is the black sheep of the family at this time.Apparently he left his wife and family in the late 1920's or early 1930's heading for out west. He was never heard from again.
What happened to his wife Laura and his daughter Rita? What happened to Arthur?
As you can see every record of them we have found lists a different surname for his wife.Does this ring bells for anyone? Arthur had a nickname "Cheer"...and was a pretty good hockey player in his time.
