Seeking Martha Gudelia, who married Alvin Purcell Beech, then became widowed in 1986, then married Agustin Torres Alvarez, Jr., then became widowed in 1993. Martha needs to contact me immediately as she is the likely recipient of $275,000 awaiting her filing of a claim in relation to Mr. Beech's death by lung cancer, due to his work in the South Pacific 50 years ago in the atomic weapons test area. I can make this happen for her. I don't know how to find her. Any one who knows her should please contact her to contact me, Albert B. Frowiss, at 858.756.1494 ASAP.

Hi Don: I cannot find Ephraim anywhere in Ohio for 1900. I did a search by given name only for Ohio for 1900 and every Ephraim except Ephraim Beech/Beach was listed. For some reason he missed the census enumerator that day. Barbara

My mother, Dolores Caulfield Brazie was a distant cousin of Elizabeth Beech. I have letters that Elizabeth wrote to my mom. For the past 40 years I have been working on eight different family trees. In one of Elizabeth's letters she provided the names and dates of birth of her four children.
Gordon's posting gave me their spouses. If you would be interested I can provide a rather extensive family tree on the Quigley's. Also, I would love to know about their families.
Tony Brazie

I have been in contact with a Beach (Beech) family whose family originated in Scotland. This family emigrated to St. Vincent Island in the Carribbean. Below is information they sent, if you think there may be a connection with your family send me an e-mail at: DBeachFam@aol.com or through this gateway.

Best regards, Denis Beach

The 'original' Beach in SV was William, who came from Scotland to be an "estate" (plantation) manager. He seems to have been about the same age as my gggrandfather, born in 1835. Where in Scotland he came from I don't know, and he and his wife died at sea when their ship sank on a visit home. I have never been able to trace the ship but supposedly it was the SS Joseph Hulme.
NJ Beeches from Germany?

I'm searching for a portion of our family that lived in New Jersey from at least the 1890s-1920s. I don't know what the original name or spelling was but in Minnesota they used both Beetch and Beech but a Beach spelling would certainly not be out of the question. The Gerhard Beetch (b. abt. 1841) family is listed in the 1885 MN state census living in Mankato with wife Katie (1841), and children, Barbara (1866), John (1868), Jos. (1869), Frank (1870), and Will & Fritz(1872). They immigrated from Germany, (possibly Baden), somewhere between 1878 and 1883. Barbara remained in Mankato but I believe the rest of family moved to NJ. Eventually Fritz, (my great grandfather Fred Beech), ran away from home and joined Barbara in MN. He died in 1928 and his obit lists a brother, John, in Newark. I'm quite certain his father passed away before Fred did.

I have one portrait photo of a man with no name attached taken in a NJ studio. Other than that, not much to go on. Any help or suggests would be welcomed. Thanks.

Paul Beech - Philadelphia Theatre

Hi. Was wondering if anyone out there in the course of their family research might have run across a Paul Beech - stage name was Paul Lamartine. He was an actor in Philadelphia Theater - he died of heart disease at the age of 36 in 1896.

He had a wife, Annie, and 6 kids - the kids were a performing group. I am guessing from what I was able to trace of their movements that they did a bit of vaudeville traveling. The youngest of the 6 children was Columbus Murray Beech. He did not stay in acting as an adult but worked as a policeman and as a mechanic. He married into my family tree and I am collecting info on him and his family.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Hello Don: I would like to know more about this Beech line myself. This is what I have on Solomon Beech:

1850 United States Federal Census
about Solomon Beech
Name: Solomon Beech
Age: 47
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1803
Birth Place: Kentucky
Gender: Male
Home in 1850(City,County,State): Clay, Auglaize, Ohio
Household Members: Name Age
Catharine Beech 12
David Beech 18
Epraim Beech 16
Esther Beech 43
James Beech 14
Joel Beech 7
Samuel Beech 23
Solomon Beech 47
William Beech 20
____________________
Ohio Marriages, 1803-1900
about REBECKA BARBER
Name: BEECH, SOLOMAN
Spouse: BARBER, REBECKA
Marriage Date: 8 Jul 1852
County: Auglaize
State: OH

My husband descends from ALLEN of Auglaize Co, Ohio, and Solomon Beech was his gg grandfather.

I have Ephraim Beech married to Ann Mariah Fox. Is that correct? AND Jennie Rebecca as their daughter. Were there other children?

DEATH OF EPHRAIM BEECH
Ephraim Beech, b. 13 Dec 1833 Warren Co., Ohio; d. 22 Aug 1913, Van Wert, Ohio; buried 24 Aug 1913 St.Johns, Auglaize. Father, Solomon Beech, b.Virginia; Mother: Snider.
Digital GSU #4025081; GS #1953757; image #692; ref #fn 49510.

I see the ocnfusion. Where was Solomon born? I am inclined to believe what the census reports in this case, because Solomon was still living, and it's more likely accurate, although someone other than Solomon may have given Kentucky to the cenus taker. In 1913, when Ephraim died, once again, who gave Virginia for the death certificate?

Do you have any documents that agree with either Kentucky or Virginia?

More later, to be sure.
Barbara

Ruth: Esther BEECH had 5 brothers and sisters, none named Henry James. In fact, she had a brother George born in 1892, in Liverpool - he was killed in WWI, without issue.

Joseph Beech, Esther's father, had no siblings. William Beech, his grandfather, was apparently born in Cheshire, so these two lines may be connected a couple of generations back. We haven't been able to find anything about William's family though, so it's impossible to verify at this point.

There are a couple of Irish connections. Joseph's father George was allegedly born in Ireland; and George remarried after his first wife died. This second wife was also born in Ireland, according to census records.

Could someone please advise on were i should look next, i have run into a dead end. John Beech married Elizabeth Newman on
21 August 1753 in St Peters Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England. He was from Tettenhall. There is no record of who was present at the ceremony. No birth record exits in Tettenhall for this man, so he must have come from another area. How does one go about finding out were he came from. His children were all born in Tettenhall. What other document can i research? If anyone has any ideas i would be grateful. Thanks

Hi,
I am the great Grandson of Charles & Annans Beech who lived at the address that you showed.

Unfortunately I have info. that strongly suggests your Grandmother, Gertrude, is not related to the Beech family. I believe that the funeral that your mother attended about 8 years ago was that of Edith Amy commonly known as Dop. The lady that your mother spoke to is my Aunt the Granddaughter of Charles & Annans, who was bridesmaid at Gertrude & Albert's wedding.

My Great Grandparents only fostered two children, Gertrude & Jim, they had 3 children of their own, Charles (my Grandfather), Ellen and Alfred who was killed in WW1. Ellen was known by the family as Sis (short for sister) which has probably been mistaken for Cicely. Dop was the daughter of Sis and a Mr Daniels who never married Sis. Sis did marry a Mr Norman.

I hope that this info. is useful.

William Beech

Can someone please be so kind as to look up this family in the 1891 census.
William was born in Compton in 1852. Married Ellen. Children
Arthur, Walter,Amy, Ellen,John Edward, Herbert, Ernest George and Harry. Ellen and the children were born in Tettenhall.
William can be found in 1901 shown as a widow and deaf. His daughter Ellen and Herbert are listed. No other children are shown at the address. William was a Wheelwright. I would like to know who was living with William and Ellen in 1891 to confirm that all these children are indeed theirs.
Thanks Lesley
