Hi Nikki,
It has been over 2 years since you posted this message!!!
Unfortunately I wasn't notified, because my internet provider was bought out at about that time and my e-mail address was altered. I obviously don't check this site very often. George is not in my direct line and I had hit a brick wall, so I went on with other families. I have found out a few things more re the MacMillan"s and Anna Beachwood. However not the information you have found. I would love to exchange information!

Katie

Do you know who Carl's parents were?

I have been researching the BEECHWOOD surname (my maiden name) since 1994 and have not found links to Carl or Carla (though I found mention of him having died in the Korean War). However, I have several people who have "unidentified sons" - might they be Carl's parents? Could you please contact me via email--I have much information I could share if this is a match. My research is computerized and I could share GEDCOM files.

I can be reached at niki.curry@bain.com (work) as well as the other address (home).

Hi Katie. I listed everything I know on this family, which obviously isn't much at this stage. The information I have on George was taken from the Social Security Death Index, which is known to have errors on occasion. It's possible his birth year is incorrect (maybe it was 1892?), but since he lived until 1980, that seems less likely. Do you know approximately when your George Beachwood died? Or when Anna died? Did she die as Anna Beechwood or did she remarry later? Have you tried locating an obituary for either of them? or a marriage license? I have not done this kind of research on this line of Beachwoods myself, but I'd be willing to help out.

If you write to me at currymn@rcn.com then I can connect you with George's niece, Sammie Beechwood Bartlet. She still lives in the area and might be able to help you. Also, you may want to contact the owner of the Kress website in case he has additional information on George Beechwood. He didn't when I first found it a year or more ago, but things may have changed since then. OH! I just remembered, I'll have to check my archives. A couple years ago I contacted a descendant of George who was looking for information. I'll see if I can find his name and address as well.

I would like to keep in touch on this line as well. (Oh, there's no connection between the lines I've been researching and that of the researcher listed earlier in this thread (Eron Crouch). His grandfather Carl Beechwood died in the Koren War and his race was listed as Negro, whereas my family is caucasian of European descent.)

Niki

Laura, I don't have any definite leads for you, but I may be able to help. I've been doing a one-name study on Beechwood (Beachwood) for over eight years now. I have encountered a George Beachwood of the right age to be your Rose's husband.

Could you please provide additional details, e.g., everything you currently know about George? How did you find his name in connection with your family? Knowing this will help me a lot, as I have four different George Beechwoods (Beachwoods) in my database.

Niki Beechwood Curry

Seeking all known Beechwood ancestors and descendants

I have been doing what is essentially a one-name study on the Beechwood (Beachwood) family since late 1993. I have collected quite a number of records (birth/mariage/death, census, city directory) on this surname from the following states: NY, KS, MO, OK, PA, NJ, CT, FL, CA, WA, and others.

I am interested in corresponding with anyone who has ANY connection to the Beechwood or Beachwood family. I have identified the origin of my direct line as being through Jacob Buchholtzer, who immigrated to Lewis County, NY in September 1837. He had three sons whose lineage lives on today: John Beechwood, through Jacob's first wife, Elizabeth Grosbeck(?); and Charles and William Beechwood, through Jacob's second wife, Catherine Seelman. My descent is through William.

I have numerous partial genealogies and would like to flesh them out with your help. I'm willing to share all I have if you will do the same. My ultimate goal is to publish a documented Beechwood genealogy (all contributors will be fully acknowledged and credited for their work).

Please respond here if you have ANY information on a Beechwood or Beachwood (or even Buchwood) individual. Thank you!!

Nikki,
Thank you for your very quick response. The name and locale are right, but the age is wrong. The George A. Beachwood I am trying to locate was Married to Anna B. MacMillan by 1915. He is listed in the Tacoma City Directory in 1915 with his Wife Anna B. He was a Conductor living at 1412 E. 28th Street in Tacoma. He was still listed in the Directory in 1925 with Anna living at #37 414S. Tacoma Way. I have no other information on George. George was my mother's uncle by marriage.

Nikki, I do not know how to get in touch with you, other than thru this Message board
(the Beechwood Surname Message Board).

I would like to keep in touch regarding the Beachwood line. Thanks again.
Katie bf140@gte.net

I looked at the page on the Kress family. It is possible that George could have remarried in 1936. I have no info after about 1935. I just don't see how he could have been born in 1902. He would have been no older than 13 when he is listed as being married to Anna B. MacMillan and working as a conductor in 1915. Anna was born in abt. 1883. Anna would have been 32 in 1915.
Katie

I'm in touch with George's grand-niece and also a distant cousin of theirs who have been hoping we'd find something like this. Could you tell me if you're connected to the family in some way?

If you cannot send a scanned copy of the records, I would be happy to pay for photocopies and mailing costs. Please email me directly and I will send you my mailing address.

Thank you so much!

Hope I have a little information on your George Beechwood. I have a copy of a marriage License and Marriage Certificate for a George Albert Beechwood age 26 born at Tacoma, Pierce Co., WA., son of A. E. Beechwood and Annie Farmer. George Albert Beechwood married Bessie Helen Squires, age 17 in Hamilton, MT. on Sept. 9, 1931, service by H. H. Longnecker.
They must have divorced because I have a further marriage record for Bessie Helen Stewart to a John Carl Soper in 1945. She must have married a Stewart before marrying John Soper but I do not have that information.

I have two different Beechwood lines living in Washington that Rose could have married into.
Hi Katie,

It's been almost 2 years since we last talked, but I wanted to let you know I've found some new information on your George Beechwood. By this time, it may be old news, of course.

I located George and his wife "Anna B. McMillane" in the 1920 census for Tacoma, Pierce Co., WA. I also have him in the 1880 census in Gypsum Creek, McPherson Co., KS. I've been able to identify her mother (Mary A. McMillane) and brother (George, your grandfather), as they were living with George and Anna in 1920.

I would like to further compare notes with you on this family, as I have gathered a lot of information and documentation about George Beechwood and his parents, siblings (and their families), and his grandparents.
