Larry Beeding

Larry Melvin "Hippie" Beeding, 54, of Oakville, died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the Colony Flea Market in Colony, Mo.

Born July 27, 1949, in Muscatine, he was the son of Clyde "Pete" and Dorothy Ford Beeding. On Nov. 10, 1999, he married Harriet Dickey in Oakville.

Mr. Beeding was a welder, junker and trader, attending many flea markets to buy, sell and trade.

He was an avid fisherman and camper and loved old country music. He enjoyed being on the Mississippi River.

Survivors include his wife; his father and stepmother, Clyde and Judy Beeding of Oakville; his mother of Muscatine; one daughter, Jennifer Calvin of Georgia; three sons, Larry Scott Beeding of Oakville and Zacheriah Palmer and Harrison Beeding, both at home; three grandchildren; one sister, Wanda Walker of Muscatine; his maternal grandmother, Violet Ford of Muscatine; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

There will be no visitation. The family will gather for a private viewing at Dudgeon–McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello.

The graveside service for Mr. Beeding will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Wapello Cemetery, with Pastor Dan Dickey officiating.

A memorial has been established.
