this is todd....i dont know if you met Aunt Charlotte, but her father was the one who did a great deal of research and had two HUGE books created on the family that goes back to Meeks as well.
Contact her..... I don't know her email or phone, but if you want, I can give you my mom's number and just tell her who you are and she can share that info with you.

I think we e-mailed several years ago. I was curious is you have come across any connections with Thomas William Beedle. He was first married to Sarah Unknown in Prince William Co., VA. His second wife was Mary Unknown. They were married about 1854 in Virginia. She died in Ashley, Pike Co., MO in 1858. My great grandfather John Wesley, is a son from this marriage. With not knowing a spouses maiden name, it is hard to find information. I haven't been successful in finding documents to verify names and dates, either. I know it is a long shot, but just wanted to chance you had information on this line. Thank you for your help. Pat Berry

I show The father of Elias N. Beedle to be Danial Beedle, married to Elizabeth Lindley; Daniel's father is unknown but perhaps is Robert Beedle....died in PA or KY near to date of birth of son Daniel....Daniel's mother was Mary Reeves, who came from PA to KY with several children, then from KY to OH in 1805 with only Daniel at age 13, settling near Joseph Beedle/Mary Meek in Troy, Miami, OH....but said to be not related to them. Curtis Joseph Beedle did genealogy research in early 1900's and interviewed the Joseph Beedle living in OH at the time, and this was his recollection.

Anybody recognize any of these guys? I believe I've seen Isaac listed as both Isaac N. and F.N. Beedle, not sure which is right at this point. They seem to be located in both Darke and Miami counties in Ohio at various times. I'm particularly interested in a generation or so earlier than what's here to determine whether this group connects to another Beedle line I'm researching in Miami county.

1st generation: Isaac N. Beedle (also listed as F.N. Beedle) married Margaret Dean in Darke Co, in 1846

2nd generation: Charles F. Beedle (1841-1926) married Susan Ellen McFarland

3rd generation: Rola D. Beedle (1887-1916) (or Rolla or Roll) married Hazel Wickersham (her second husband was named Myers)

Very Cool. They were my GG Grandparents. So you must be 2nd cousin to my Dad's generation. As I noted in the post you repsonded to, my G Grandf Paents were Stephen Douglas Beedle and Bridget Hannah Brown. Sarah Ann Beedle, one of their kids marroed my Grand father William John Thomas. I have lots of info on Beedle, Brown, Berkibile, and Thomas lines. How do you fit in? Where do you live. I have not had a lot of success in tracking down the parents of Edward Beedle - just possibilites.

I am trying to trace any information relating to Ellen Beedle who was born c.1879 in Capel, Surrey, U.K. Her parents were Mark Beedle and Caroline (nee Holloway). After the 1891 census she disappears - no marriage or death records. There is a vague possibility that she went to South Africa at some time, but I can not discover any evidence to support this either. If anyone can shed any light on this I will be thrilled to hear from them.

Bette: Sorry for not answering sooner,just got my comput up and running.my gggrandmother was Eliza beedle her father was Joseph Beedle and mother ,Mary Meeks. Eliza married Abraham Collings around 1826,they moved to Diamon Missouri in 1866. They had eleven children . There daughter, Mary Jane married Levi Walls, this was my greatgrandparents. If you what more dates and names let me know. I have not found any live Collings,but have a book written by a cousion befor she died. Hope to hear from you. Cathy

Thank you, Cathy for your reply. Yes, I would love to have any information you have on Abraham Bogart Collings and his wife Elizabeth Beedle........or on any of the family, for that matter. It is always nice to be able to compare my info with others and double-check if there are differences. I have some of the children's names but no birth or death dates, their children, etc. I remember my mother mentioning visiting some relatives in Missouri when she was a young girl but of course paid no attention to names, etc. I descended from Joseph Beedle-Joseph Beedle-Mary Truly Beedle-Mabel Elder

Marjorie Ann (Rainbolt) Beedie, 81, of Bedford, died at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford, Indiana.

A registered nurse, she was retired from the Bedford North Lawrence Community School System.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Conley and Clyde Beedie, and four daughters, Harriet Johnson, Sue Ellis, Rose Stiles and Lucille Peerson.

Hi,

I just watched a biography of the film star William Holden the other night on the Biography Channel. In this show they said that the movie studio did not like the name "Beedle". One of the movie executives was talking on the phone to a newspaper writer about the name problem. The newspaper writer's name was William Holden. He said to the movie executive, "Why don't you give him my last name - Holden." And so that's how it happened. The show also mentioned that the actor William Holden had a brother Robert Beedle who died during World War II.

BEEDLE, Franklin -- 1818-1900 Belleville, IL Weekly Advocate dated May 25, 1900: Mr. Franklin BEEDLE, a well known farmer of this county, died at 2:33 o'clock Thursday morning at his home in Ridge Prairie, 6 miles north of town, aged 82 years and 10 days. Mr. BEEDLE was one among the oldest native born residents of this county. He was born May 14, 1818, in Ridge Prairie, and grew to manhood and passed his life in the locality of his birth. His parents came to this state and county from Ohio in the year 1812, settling in Ridge Prairie. Mr. BEEDLE was married in 1841 to Miss Rebecca WESTFIELD, who died in 1887. There was born to this union seven children, four of whom survive, one son and three daughters; three daughters having died, two in infancy: and Augusta, wife of the late James BEGOLE, died in the year 1880. The surviving children are Mrs. Sarah A. BOWLER, Mrs. Melissa LEMEN, Walter A. BEEDLE and Mrs. Kate CAUGHLAN. The funeral services will be held at the family residence on Sunday, May 27 at 10 a.m., thence to Shiloh cemetery.

Edward Beedle born before 1810 and his wife Margaret Humphrey born about 1810 both in Llandinam, Montgomeryshire, Wales. They had at least 2 sons. Evan Beedle Sr. born Feb. 4, 1835 and Stephen Beedle. Evan Beedle Sr. and wife Sarah Ann Hodgson had 12 children including Stephen Douglas Beedle born 1869 and married Bridget Hannah Brown born 1871. The latter married, lived and died in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Anybody connect to these people. Anyone know Edward Beedle's ancstors?

I'm looking for more information on Edward Upjohn Beedle's ancestors. He was born in 1847 in London. He then lived in York and worked as a Professor of the Culinary Arts. He was married to Annie Cheer (1846-1910) and died in 1906. Their children were:

I'm looking for any information on Edward Upjohn Beedle, Beadle, Biddle depending on spelling variations. He was born in England and died there on December 02, 1906. His wife is Annie Cheer (d. 1910). Their children are Elizabeth Marion (b 1870), Albert Harry (b. 1872), Annie (b. 1873), Rosa Emily (1877) and Aimee Hariet (1880). My neighbor Renee lives in the house. Her Parents bought the house from the Holdens. This is interesting. The owner's of the house in the 40's were William Franklin Holden Sr. and Rose Beedle. Bill lived there starting around age 15. I could not figure out how his father could have the sir name Holden yet Bill was born with the name Beedle. I am beginning to wonder if Rose was not a sister to Mary and that Bill was close to his aunt and uncle and not only lived with them, but took his uncles sir name as a professional name. The other possibility is that Mary's maden name was Rose and the whole family changed their name to Holden. I just can't figure that out.
This home is in Garfield Heights a newly ordained historic district of Pasadena, not South Pasadena and there are residents who remember him and the family. I went into the back directory and found records of William Franklin Holden, Sr. living in this home and of his wife Rose Beedle. There are records of his attending Pasadena High and Pasadena Community College.
What do you make of this?
