Hello. I am related to Richard beem through his son Michael Beem III. You are related to Richard through Richard's son and Michael's brother Benjamin Beem. Benjamin and Emily (Mayer) Beem had 10 children. Many families in the 1830s-1870s named their children for famous people. Thus, Martin Van Buren Beem, Elbridge Gerry Beem, Benjamin Franklin Beem, etc. There was no relation, but the children were named because of a great respect for the famous person.
