Hi Debby,
I don't have anything further on Levi and Ida Giesler Beesley other than what Cliff Ochletree posted on the Maries Co. message board. He shows Levi a son of William Oliver Beesley and Louisa Suttle.

The War of 1812 records are on Fold3.com website which is a subscription site. I'll go and copy off everything that looks readable and pertinent and get back to your email.
Not a problem.
Pam Smith
Dallas, OR

Hi Pam,

My name is Debby Cook and my mother was a Beesley in Oklahoma. I do have the War of 1812 records on John Beesley, but I do not have anywhere 38 pages. I was excited just to find anything on him. We all are stuck on John. I have his obituary that was put in the Jefferson City newspaper by a friend of his who was a judge. It didn't give much information but the first I found. Not sure where he was from, but Simpson and Maries counties records were destroyed in fires, as I am sure you know.

I have been trying to find information on the Levi Gay Beesley and Ida M. Giesler family. Would you have that? I have been to Simpson County and twice to Maries County. Just not much there.

Would it be possible to get the military records you have on John Beesley? I will pay for the copying, postage and your time. It is so hard to get info from the military. They usually say they couldn't find it. Obviously that is not true since you were able to get it.

Any information I have on the Beesley's you want, I will be glad to share. I believe I found a picture of Levi's family in the Marie's county families book.

Hope to hear from you!

Debby Cook
dlc0418@hotmail.com
Hi Janice,
I just ran across something which you may already have but just in case . . .
Fold3.com Military Records website - War of 1812 records
John Beesley of Maries Co., MO made his application for a pension based on his War of 1812 service. This file has at least 38 pages of items. The Declaration shows that Isaac Beesley and John A. Giesler were witnesses for him, both of Maries Co. John Beesley states he married Lucy Green 13 Sep 1816 in SC and that he enlisted in Samuel Gray's Co. A, 3rd Regiment at Pendleton, SC on 14 May 1810. He filed this application in Maries Co Court 27 Apr 1871. John A. Giesler and Isaac Beesley signed their affidavits 18 Dec 1871 in Lanes Prairie, MO. William Pinnell, postmaster witnessed it. These are just 2 that I copied off because of the Giesler name.
Pam Smith
Dallas, OR

That Y-46 test should be plenty to see where you are among those in our Beasley Project with FTDNA. It would take a marker-by-marker comparison, but if you are willing to share your results (the list of markers and allele numbers) I would be happy to do that. I am co-administrator of the Beasley project at FTDNA. Please contact me at dbeezley@gmail.com for any specific questions you may have and to make arrangements for the comparison.

Beasley's from Craven County have been part of the Beasley DNA project. As a Beezley, I am also related to that DNA profile. The profile also includes Beesley and Beazley. Do you know if anyone from your line has been tested for YDNA profile?

I am descended from the same family, namely Francis's cousin Thomas.I think Francis's wife was Matilda WEBB not Hebb.
Francis's father was buried 25.6.1819 age 33 at Rugby a month before his son was born. Another child Robert was born 16.5.1817 but was buried 30.1.1818. Francis snr. and my Thomas were the children of Thomas and Rebecca nee Harris of Rugby. The line goes back through three more Thomas's to Francis Beesley of Burton Dassett Warwickshire [died 1710].
I can get no further back to date, mainly I suspect through lack of surviving registers. I was a Beesley before marriage and would be interested in your connection.

Beesley genealogies

I am seeking to collaborate with individuals doing significant work with the Beesley surname. By significant, I mean that the Beesley patriarch would be established and well sourced at least as far back as the first half of the 19th century. There would be well developed lines of descent from this patriarch, particulary with male lines carrying on the Beesley name, but also including female lines. Lines may consist of different spellings with proven relationships. There would be well documented connections to people living today who bear the Beesley surname.

I have been developing a methodology for the Beezley lines and wish to help replicate the methodology with other more common variations. I am co-administrator with the major YNDA project covering Beasley and variations, and I have established a Beasley and variations world-wide project with the Guild of One-Name Studies.

Please contact me via this thread, by email at dbeezley@gmail.com, and/or one of the existing project sites, http://beasleygenealogy.net, or http://project.beezley.net or http://www.one-name.org/profiles/beasley.html.

Biography of Professor Charles BEESLY b. 1870 in Allendale, IL

I recently bought a a copy of the 1907 Grayville Southside High School "The Tattler" which is a collection of prose written by members of Grayville High School, White County, Illinois.

One of the excerpts is entitled "Biography of Professor Charles Beesley" by Francis Ronald Rawlinson.

The bio says that Charles, born 1870 in Allendale, IL, was a sickly boy who was good at mathematics. He attended university at Valparaiso, Austin, and Carbondale. He tried to sell books first. Eventually he became a teacher at Grayville Southside High School.

There is quite a bit more to the bio. I would like to connect this booklet with a family member or family researcher. It is so quaint that I believe it would give formerly unknown info about his life.

Please contact me if you have an interest in this booklet.

Kathy@FamilyWeSearch.com

Thanks for your message. I have tried various spellings of BEESLEY eg BEASLEY, BESLEY etc

Don't think that the entry you have found is mine as on the 1851 Census there is a Ann Beardsley living in Derby St Alkmund.

Regards

Carole

Have you thought of spelling variations. Found the following, but its infuriating that in the early years, there was no age.

Ann Beardsley
1853
Dec qtr.
District: Derby
County: Derbyshire
Volume: 7b
Page: 241

Will leave you to decide.

I am having no luck trying to find the death record of Ann Beesley (nee Rowley) born 1821 Congleton, Cheshire.

Details I have been working on:

1851 Census - Ann Beesley was living with her husband William & children at 24 Gisborne Street, Derby.

1853 Jun 12 - Ann gave birth to her son William. The family was still living 24 Gisborne Street, Derby

1853 Jul 11 - Ann registered the birth of her son William

1856 Jul 12 - Ann's husband married his second wife at Astbury, Congleton, Cheshire.

I have searched the years from 1853 to 1856 on the BMD Index on ancestry.co.uk. and scrolled through the actual images.

Does anyone have access to burial records for Derby.

Any help appreciated

Regards

Carole
