Good to hear from you! I keep finding I have more family than I knew!
I was fortunate, and found Todd, alive and well in Virginia Beach. His e-mail is: hansonshome08@GMail.com, but he doesn't check it much. He is nearly a neighbor of yours.
I don't have a photo of Jessie's grave, but I plan to go back in a couple of weeks, and will take some then. Todd's dad Bill still lives in the area.

Greetings, second cousin once removed!

Sadly, I have tried to contact Todd before. He posted so long ago (2000) and I tried to track him down separately from name and location, but had no success.

I have posted (for another cousin) something that I am sure you will find interesting. Jessie's younger sister Susan wrote a short autobiography in 1966. You can find a PDF version here:

She talks about Jessie quite a bit.

Jessie died in 1909, age 25, from typhoid fever / meningitis. You can find her death certificate by searching the WV genealogical site at http://wvculture.org/vrr. (If not, I can email you a JPG.)

Did you, by any chance, take pictures when you visited the cemetery? I'm in Fairfax, VA and Bridgeport OH is a LONG ways from here. :-(

My husband, Forrest Marion Beeson III, is seeking info on the parents of his grandfather, Forest Marion Beeson, who was born in Hickory, NC, on 31 Mar 1890. By the time he was 10 years old he was living in Georgia with his mother, Florence, and a step-father, so we do not know his mother's maiden name or his father's name, except that the surname was presumably Beeson. Any information on Forest's parentage would be much appreciated.

Mary Prentice b. 8 Nov 1865, the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Prentice. Mary married 1) Henry Monroe Beeson 23 Nov 1886. Henry died in 1888. Together they did have a son (Henry) Prentice Beeson b. 1887. All locations are Fayette Co, Pennsylvania. It seems that Mary Prentice Beeson then married John Barbour. They are in the 1900-1930 Uniontown, Fayette Co, Penn. census.

When did Mary Prentice Barbour died? Where is she buried?
Her son Prentice Beeson was born 28 Sep 1887 in Uniontown. Later in life he lived in Maryland and died in California. His wife was Effie L. McClay. Does anyone have data on her??

Hello Todd, Jessie Beason Hanson was my great grandmother too! My father, Robert Kenneth Hanson was the youngest surviving child of Harry and Jessie. He had two older brothers, Harold and Jim. Harold is buried next to Jessie, he died in '43. My dad died in 1944, age 36. There was a younger brother who died of burns around age two when he pulled a pot of boiling water off the stove (at least that is the story I heard.) Jessie died a couple of years later of a heart attack at age 28. (I cannot verify any of this. An old family friend told me these facts when I was a teenager and into my 20's.) Jim lived on, but was a drunk,and no help. I was at the cemetery on 1 Aug. saw Jessie and Harold's sites, but could not find my dad's or Or Harry's or GGgrand parents, Harry and Bessie, nor my mother's family Ames. Very frustrating. It was a Saturday, and I could find no help. I hope this finds you.

I'm seeking documentary evidence for Reverend Henry H. Beeson, 1831-1901, buried Richmond Cemetery, Ray County, Missouri. Henry had at least two sons, one of whom died very young, and one of home (William H. Beeson) eventually relocated to Bridgeport, Ohio.

I have Henry and Susan's marriage record, headstone information from the Richmond Cemetery, and anecdotes from my great-grandmother's notebook... but have been unsuccessful at locating Henry or Susan's birth records, thier parents' names, or William's siblings.

Jessie Beeson was older sister to my great-grandmother, Susan Rebecca Beeson. Their parents were William Henry Beeson and Mary Ann Tanner. William Beeson's parents was Henry Beeson, a baptist preacher living in Grape Grove, MO in 1880, and Susan J. Simpson, already deceased in 1880.

I am the grandson of Loyd Jesse Beeson. Loyd was born in Uvalde, Texas I believe. He had five sisters and one brother named Jesse, I think. I never met his brother and don't remember him being talked about. Loyd was born in 1899 and was in WWI. He married Maggie Verma Crudgington in Breckenridge, Texas. Loyd and Maggie had one daughter named Lavona Maxine Beeson.
In 1949 Lavona married Samuel Rex Boyd in 1949. They had four children. Richard Rex Boyd, Larry Bruce Boyd, John Stacey Boyd and Elizabeth Boyd. I would love to find some connection to the Beeson side of our family. Thx, Larry Boyd

I am finding many online trees having this Jonathan Beeson dying in Wayne Co, Indiana in 1831. I believe this to be incorrect. Can anyone supply documentation to enlighten me otherwise?

I find a divorce for William Charles Beeson and Ruth E Perkins dated 4-16-1990 so how could the same man be married to Nelda Redding in Mary 1968.
Must be two different William Charles Beeson.

In which state were you born?

I use switchboard.com to find people but I can't find any of the people you mentined.

William Charles Beeson that married Nelda was in Texas.
Daughter Tammy born in 1968.

If you have an ancestry.com membership you can access the Quaker minutes online through them. If not most larger Genological Libraries have them. Hinshaws Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy. Vol. I: (North Carolina Yearly Meeting). Amaziah (5-23-1766) and wife Rachel 2-27-1776)and 4 children (Rachel 2-2-1793, Igal 11-12-1794, Darius 1-22-1797 and Rosannah 3-31-1799) are listed in the Lost Creek minutes (Jefferson County, Tenneesee.) In 1802 the family requested a certificate to Westland Meeting, PA.
then you can go to the Ohio book (which has the Westland minutes and pick them up there (Amaziah is listed as one of their children but I didn't find any birth date for him). The Quaker minutes are very informative because they requested permision from the church every time they moved and most of the time recorded births, marriages and deaths. The unfortunate thing is many records have been lost due to fires, floods and other things.
I have a subscription if you don't and you want them.

Hi, this Amaziah was born in 1856 in Fairmount Mn, Grant, Indiana, USA. I have his marriage cert from his second marriage to my GG Grandmother, that has his birth date and parents on it. I do have an Amasa Beeson but he was born in 1825. And the 2 of them are related this way:

Amasa Beeson and Amaziah Beeson are 1st cousins 1 time removed. Their common ancestors are Amaziah Beeson and Isabel Burcham.

Not sure if this helps at all.

I am also looking for the beginning of the Beginning of the Beeson family. My grandfather was Elijah H Beeson, my mother was Opal F Beeson . I would like to know the Beeson line is yours. Grandad was born in Aurora Missouri, my mom was born in Eldon, Missouri. From there on back I don't have any info. Grandad was married to Maude Octavia Jones born in upper Canda. I am sorry I have been so long in contacting you, somehow missed your reply. Minnie B. Beeson, my grandmother was married to a man named Lee, my gramdfather Drew Crump, and to a B.F. Scott, and so it reads Minnie Scott on her tombstone in Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville, La. which is in Claiborne Parish. She was born in south Ark. in Union Co. in a town called Village. J.W. Hartsoch his fathers name was John Wesley Hartsock his mother was Anna Rule. The reason you probably could not find his father is because J.W. Hartsoch was said to be illiterate and used the spelling Hartsoch instead of the way his father spelled it Hartsock. John Wesley Hartsock grew up in Ohio and attended a Pacifist German Bretheran Church. Also he served in the Union Army, 155, Indiana infantry Company F. I have a two photos of both John Wesley & Anna (Rule) Hartsock.
