Re: Nobel Beheeler.

This is what I know about the Beheler(s) (this is spelling used by Chessie and her brother and sister. Chessie Tate Beheler's father was Edward Green Beheler and he was born in Franklin County, Virginia about 1839. Chessie and her family came to West Virginia via the Midland Trail when Chessie was about six years old. She told me a story about falling out of the wagon and into the New River where Virginia and West Virginia meet. Chessie married Samuel Franklin Richards in 1900 and they had six children, five of whom survied to adulthood. My father was named Guy Edward Richards and I am named Joe Edward Richards and both of us got the Edward from Edward Green Beheler (he went by Green). All are dead exept the youngest daughter, Vada, who was born in 1916. She worked until she was about ninety years old. Chessie's brother, Lester was Nobel and Norbet's family. I am not sure what Lester did for a living...he was kind of like Ozzie Nelson--he always wore nice clothes, but never went to work. Both boys looked like their father. My family lived accross the street from Frank and Chessie, so whenever family members came to visit they would either stay with us or visit often. Nobel and Norbet moved to Ambridge PA and worked with the American Bridge Company. Both men always had cameras and they took pictures all the time. I have several that were taken a Chessie's or our house--mostly family stuff. I remember both were employed by the bridge company as photographers or maybe drafters. There was an Ida Beheler and I think she was Chessie's and Lester's cousin. I will talk with Vada and look thru the pictures this weekend. Hope this helps.

hi Deb like I told Sandy we might be looking at the wrong direction of what native american we might possess, going to make a trip to Rutherford and might go to Clevland counties,to do this research, but called the society in rutherford and the funny thing is 2 of the curators thier are Bradleys, somewhat comical I think, But anyways was doing seraches on native americans, trying to find maps of the teritories each tribe held, the Catawbas held most of the area we come from and the Siouan tribes which would almost make sense figureing where they were from in the early 1800s

Noted your message related to continuing Bean's BEHELER research. I'm not sure if you plan to include descendants or just ancestors. I am descended from Dulcenda Beheler 1840-1915 of Rutherford Co, NC. She married W. Alexander Bradley about 1877 & had possible 5 children. She had 4 children before marriage to Bradley: Mary Caldonia Beheler 1857-1923, ?Charles Beheler abt.1859-?, William Jackson Beheler 1862-1938, & Nelford Cornelius Beheler 1871-1905 (unsure of fathers of these children). I have info on Mary Caldonia Beheler wife of Christopher Columbus Bradley (my gg grand-parents), William Jackson Beheler, & Nelford Cornelius Beheler. All my information on the ancestors I found in Margaret Beheler Jay's book. I do have an interesting story regarding Dulcenda Beheler/per visits with relatives. Let me know if you are interested.
Sandy Camby

That's the same Dulcena I have ... with varying spellings.

She's also listed in this cemetary as Dulcena Bradley
http://files.usgwarchives.org/nc/rutherford/cemeteries/goode...

I have reason to believe she is the mother of Mary Caldonia Beheler, but I'm trying to document this.

Mary was born in 1857, which would make Dulcena 16 or 17 at the time. Very young. I was also reading several boards and saw a woman that claimed to have Mary's death certificate stating that her mother was Dulcena and her father marked as "X". So this leads me to believe that Mary was an accidental pregnancy or unwanted pregnancy.

Mary ended up marrying Columbus "Lum" Bradley and as such, is listed as Mary Bradley in subsequent census records. Second, there must be a connection between this William Bradley that married Dulcenda and the Columbus Bradley marrying Mary Caldonia.

Lastly, Mary Caldonia Bradley is listed in the 1880 census as being native american. Possibly her father was Cherokee or Choctaw?

June 8, 1840, died Fev 4, 1915. She was the daughter of John Beheler and Angeline Bolton. She married Alexander Bradley about 1877.

Hope that helps

The above marriage produced a daughter named Carolina Wingfield.

4. Carolina Wingfield married Thosmas D Frith jr.

5 The above union produced a daughter Annie Eliza Frith ( Born Oct. 4 1856.

6 Annie Eliza Frith married Charled Lee Ross Aug. 31, 1876

7 Annie and Charles were my Paternal Grandparents.

Hopes this information helps.

Lets see if we can see how the above information ties into the family members you mentioned .

John

Re: Parents of Tazwell G. Beheler

I did not have a Tazwell Beheler listed among the progeny of John and Lydia Coleman Beheler. Neither do I have Ann S. McDaniel among my entries so this is all new information to me. Perhaps part of the difficulty, at least to me, is the use of just the name John without a middle name or initial. Seems that the Beheler clan was rife with Johns. I would be interested in the source of the will and marriage license you rferred to so that I might obtain a copy. If I read correctly there were, at least, two Tazwell Behelers and I had none up to now. I'd be happy to correspond with the originator of this ost if they are intrested. My email is wbeheler@insightbb.com

I believe Tazwell Beheler is Tazwell Greens Beheler's father and his mother Ann S McDaniel. Now who was Tazwell's father and mother? I believe Tazwell's father was John Beheler and his mother was Lydia Coleman. I have John Beheler's will and he tells what he is leaving to his son's. Son's were Tazwell, William, Edward Green,Marshall and samuel. I also believe William is William J. Beheler.
I have John Marshall Beheler marriage license where he married Mary R Beheler...Parent's are listed as follows:
Mary R Beheler's parents are William J Beheler and Frances H Beheler. John Marshall Beheler's parents are: Tazwell and Ann S Beheler.
