Looking for more info on Joseph Behmke born 1865 died 1945 married to Rose Lenz does anyone have info on the story about admiral in the german navy? and defecting? wondering about the truth in the story. and possibly if he had any outher siblings?

Shorewood is part of Milwaukee County. If you find Milwaukee on the map, look to the north and east. Shorewood is next to Lake Michigan just as Milwaukee.

Hi Paul,

thank you for your information. I am not sure does it help me in the moment. I have got an informatin from the "Milwaukee Board" that August`s sister Bertha lived in 1920 in Shorewood.
I have not located this city in a map yet.

I have not been able to link August or Bertha to my family as of now. Thanks for the new names to research. My Behmke's, John(1826/27-Jan 30 1869) and Joseph(Jun 11 1865-Oct 14 1945). Both were born in Tupadly, Gdansk, Poland. Joseph came to the America, but as of now I can not find when. John married Dorothy Bizewski and Joseph married Rozalja(Rose) Lenz. Do these help you any? I live about 40k outside of Milwaukee and still have relatives there.

I am looking for August Behmke
he lived 1908 in Milwaukee/Wisconsin ,mayby as a farmer.As his Sister Bertha Behmke nee Tuluweit,his Brother in Law Hermann Tuluweit and his nephew Rudolf arrived Ellis Island in 1908 they declared that they will lived at his house.
