MARY KATHERINE STANLEY
Mary Katherine Stanley was born August 14, 1913 at Ada, Kansas, the daughter of Foster and Edna Baldwin Beichley. She passed away Tuesday, January 13, 1987 at the Ottawa County Hospital in Minneapolis, at the age of 73 years 4 months and 29 days.
She was united in marriage to Ralph R. Stanley September 15, 1938 at Barnard, Kansas. They made their home in Ada until moving to Minneapolis in 1956. Mary was employed as a nurses aide at the Ottawa County Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1984.
Mary was a member of the Community Bible Church in Minneapolis.
Survivors include her husband Ralph; two sons, R. Ray Stanley and wife Benita of Woodbridge, VA and Bill Stanley and wife Kay of Minneapolis; one daughter Joann Briggs and husband Dan of Brighton, CO; one sister Ruth Pridey and husband Duane of Salina; and grandchildren Julie Briggs Burns and husband Jeff of Chicago, IL., Doug Briggs of Denver, CO, David Briggs of Brighton, CO, Steve Stanley of Waldorf, MD, and Mike and Katie Stanley of Woodbridge, VA.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother Bernell Allen Beichley.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 16, 2:00 p.m. at the Community Bible Church with Rev. David Bohyer officiating. Musicians were vocalist Keith Bacon and organist Mrs. Bill Hemenway. Casket bearers were Louis Slavik, Lowell Parrish, Jim Kay, John Pruitt, Bob Humpert and Bill Hemenway. Interment was in Highland cemetery, Minneapolis. Shields Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
