WILTON, Iowa -- Gladys V. Bein, 98, of Wilton died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. The Rev. Samuel Hahn will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Diana Gradert and vocalist Henry Bentley. Pallbearers are Grant Jipp, Tim Hartley, Vaughn Bein, Guy Bein, Stephen Funderburk and Owen Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Mervin Jipp, Barbara Smith, Denise O'Connell, Janna Jipp and Paula Grings. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton.

Mrs. Bein was born on July 9, 1903, in Muscatine County, the daughter of William and Tillie Dipple Bohnsack. She married Raymond I. Bein on Dec. 2, 1925, in Davenport. He preceded her in death Sept. 28, 1982.

She was a member of the Wilton Garden Club, Golden Agers, the Friendly Eight card club and was a former member of the Wilton Royal Neighbors of America.

She enjoyed dancing, flowers, tatting and crocheting.

Survivors include two daughters, Janis Laughlin and her husband, James, of Moscow and Anita Hartley and her husband, William, of Wilton; a son, Raymond Bein of Atalissa; two brothers, Lester Bohnsack and his wife, Evelyn, of Montpelier and Oscar Bohnsack of Durant; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Phyllis Jipp; two sisters, Irma McCleary and Wilma Brown; two brothers, Harold Bohnsack and Walter Bohnsack; and a grandson, Vance Bein.

Raymond L. Bein, 76, Atalissa, died Monday, July 31, 2006, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

The Rev. Tom Zeleny will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Deb Mohr. Casket bearers are Tim Hartley, Bill Chapman, Owen Smith, Dwain Hepker, Loren Bohnsack and Rick Weiss. Burial will be at Sharon Cemetery, Wilton.

Mr. Bein was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Muscatine County, the son of Raymond and Gladys Bohnsack Bein.

He farmed in Muscatine County his entire life. He was a member of the Iowa Angus Association and the Eastern Iowa Angus Association.

Survivors include two sons, Guy Bein of Atalissa and Vaughn Bein and wife Deb of Durant; two sisters, Anita Hartley of Wilton and Janis Laughlin and husband James of Moscow; and a grandson, Cooper Bein.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Phyllis Jipp; and a son, Vance Bein.
