My great-grandfather Joseph Bein was born in Dorstadt Germany in 1828. He and his wife Caroline Senf Bein came to St. Louis Mo in 1865. At that time they had three children, Mary born in 1857, Ferdinand born in 1860 and Josephine born in 1864. Josephine died on the trip over or shortly after arrival. They had 2 more boys. Frederick Louis Bein born 1866, my grandfather and Benedict Joseph Bein born 1869.They are Catholic.

Ferdinand and B. Joseph were said to work on the river - St. Louis is on the Mississippi. I have records for Ferdinand until 1886. He is working as a cabinet maker and blacksmith.
B. Joseph disappears after 1893 when he is living with his family and working as a machinist.

The parents and Mary and Frederick stay in St. Louis until their deaths. They have many children but I can not find Ferdinand or B. Joseph anywhere. There is a Ferdinand in Iowa but he does not seem to be my Ferdinand.

If anyone can help me find these brothers I would be very happy and grateful. Linda Bein Traina
