Yes I'm from the Australian branch. I'm descended from Edward Beirne (Thomas Charles Beirne's younger brother) who was a police constable in Queensland - b. 1868 - d. 1940.

It is interesting you mention O'Beirne because I read something recently which said that Henry O'Beirne may be an Uncle of Thomas Charles Beirne. Henry was quite a figure in Melbourne/Victoria in his day. I don't remember the exact details just thought I would put is aside until I could prove a link. Does this mean anything to you?

You mention Thomas (Long Tom) - what does this mean? Sounds like you have interesting data!

I gather you still live in Canada?

Cheers
Kate
