I was looking through some of the records my Aunt Norma had gotten from Anne Allen of Iowa City, Iowa. It seems like part of our
Beiser clan had some people in Zanesville. She writes of it in a letter to my aunt. Our Beissers were from the Kingdom of Wurtenberg, at the time Prussia dominated the area. Today, it is in southwestern Germany. I've got some documents from the district: Kirchheim under Tech. Its the family registry of Johann Georg Beisser who was the son of Michael Beisser, a weaver, and his wife was Elisabetha Catharina, nee
Jacob. Johann married Elisabetha Dorothea Durr on 9 May 1833. Her parents were Josef Durr, a farmer and his wife Maria Catharina, nee Durr (?). Johann was born 10 March 1804 in Nabern. His wife was born also in Nabern on 9 June 1808.
Together, they had 3 children that lived.
Josef, born 6 March 1835; Michael, born 2 January 1842 and Johann Jacob, born on 20 February 1842. The family emigrated to the U.S. about October 30th of 1851.
Sorry, but my wife just called me to dinner. I'll continue this afterwards and try to tie this into the Beiser's of Ohio.
