For crying out loud. This is a nightmare! My great grandfather was Herman Beiser and he lived and raised his family in New York. I can't find ANY information on his parents or whether or not he grew up in New York or was born there? Perhaps he was born elsewhere in the US and moved to NY in the early 1900s? Does anyone in the Ohio or Missouri Beiser's show a Herman anywhere??? I'm beginning to lose hope. Six years of doing this and no mention anywhere of a Herman Beiser or Beisers in New York, for that matter. All I know is that Herman was born in 1885 in New York.

I do also show a Herman Beiser on the 1880 Census having been born in 1854 in Germany (as were both his parents). He was a cook in 1880 and married. I found that on Ancestry and, of course, can't access the files without paying. But the following codes are available if someone else can help me with them by looking them up:
