Surnames: BITLER, BEITLER, NIGH, MYERS
Looking for family descendants of Samuel BITLER (BEITLER) and Maria NIGH to share information with.

Samuel married Maria NIGH and had 8 children: Elijah Newton, Wiliam H, Jesse Corwin, James, Nancy Ann, Samuel Bennet, Franklin D, David S. David and Wiliam died young.

Samuel married second, Sarah B MYERS, but there were no children to this marriage.

Of the living, all but one changed the spelling of the name to "BEITLER". The one that did not change the name, Jesse Corwin, became city councilman and later Probate Judge of Findlay, OH. Many of the others in this line seem to have gone into education.

I can not find Elijah in Census record after he served in the Civil War. He ends up in Osceola Co, FL at a Civil War Soldiers Colony.

James was a blacksmith and later a machinist. Samuel & Franklin were teachers and later operated a dry goods store near Alvada. Franklin later ran a store and newspaper in Arlington, OH.

I do not know much about Nancy, but from Census records, it would appear she married another NIGH.

If you are a descendant or have further information on this line, please contact me, and I can share more of what I have found.
