I am a friend of Ruth Beitz, wife of Walter Beitz b. in Bismarck, Mo.

about his parents. Her mother d. of cancer when her and her sister were really young. Everyone wanted to separate them and her father said, "not as long as he was alive"

She said he was a wonderful father. They had two pianos in their home and she and her sister were never allowed to touch either one.
