I am seeking any information on Herman Beitz, died in 1890 keeping a family member from drowning and drowned himself. His sons were Otto Teafield Beitz, William Ernest Beitz, and his daughter was Edith Beitz. Herman was married to Edith "Ida" Beitz. He was born in Hamburg or Pomerania. She (Ida) was from Lupemburg, Lupembarry it was said that Herman married beneath his station and left Germany. Arrived in the US 1889/ 1890. They arrived in New York on the ship called the Main, on the last voyage. He left three brothers in Germany. Any help would be great and helpful. Can be emailed at silverroad44@aol.com

I thought the names were interesting because my grandmother is Ruth Beitz, wife of Walter Beitz, Jr. both from the Rupert/Rainelle areas of WV. Walter had two siblings, a brother Julian Beitz of Rupert and his sister JoAnn who now lives in Michigan. I may be able to dig further. Someone sent me information on our family several years ago I can dig that out if you would want some more.

I am a friend of Ruth Beitz, wife of Walter Beitz b. in Bismarck, Mo.

He had a sister who had 3 children, one was a girl named June who is working on the Beitz Family.

Are you any relation to him? Ruth doesn't know anything
about his parents. Her mother d. of cancer when her and her sister were really young. Everyone wanted to separate them and her father said, "not as long as he was alive"

She said he was a wonderful father. They had two pianos in their home and she and her sister were never allowed to touch either one.

He worked as a mailman here before he died. Are you a relative? She knows nothing of his parents.
Can yo help me find them for her?

I am the daughter-in-law of Gertrude Kneip Cirks who is the daughter of John P. Kneip and Margaretta Beitz. Margaretta is the daughter of Adam Beitz and Julia Burg.
Gertrude is now about 93 years and when we were visiting her in Ada, MN last February, she said Aunt Carrie married Wolfgang Schreiner and they lived in ND. Is this "Carrie" the same person as your "Caroline"?
Gertrude said there were John, Joe and Mary, Peter, Henry, Julia, Jake, Kate, Margaretta in the family of Adam and Julia (Burg) Beitz.

My husband's mother Gertrude Kneip CIRKS talks of the Schreiners being related to her but she does not know how. Her parents were John Peter Kneip and Margaretta Elizabeth Beitz who both came from Bridgewater, Adair County, Iowa. For a while, Gertrude lived in ND in the Hillsboro area (I believe). She is a sister to Cecila Kneip ADAMS, Agnes Kneip ACKERMAN, who married and stayed in the ND area while Gertrude moved to Ada, MN area with her folks. I am looking for John Peter Kneip's parents. Can you help me?
