MUSCATINE
Marilyn A. Bekker, 68, of 411 Greenwood Dr., died Monday, April 3, 2000, at her home.
Services will be at the St. Mathias Catholic Church, 215 W. Eighth St. The Rev. Bernard Weir will officiate. Pallbearers will be Paul Wieskamp, Gary Wieskamp, Robert Wieskamp, Paul Stych, Robert Schaapveld, and Maynard Stych. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nichols.
Visitation will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home with a Rosary Prayer service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Mathias Catholic Church or the History Department of the Musser Public Library.
She was born on March 16, 1932, in Nichols, the daughter of Bernard and Mildred Schaapveld Bekker.
She was a member of the St. Mathias Catholic Church, the Friends of Musser Public Library, Midwest Riverboat Buffs, the Hospital Auxillary and was a charter member of the Muscatine Area Heritage Association.
She had worked for Young Brothers Stamp Works for 22 years prior to her retirement.
Survivors include two brothers, William Bekker and his wife, Beverly, of Davenport, and Donald Bekker of Muscatine; a sister, Ruth Anne Bekker of Muscatine; two nieces, Lisa Bauer and her husband, Floyd, of Davenport, and Cindy White of Muscatine; two great nephews, Brandon Bauer and Jacob White.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Eugene and a sister, Elizabeth.

Beverly Kay Bekker, 67, of Davenport, died Monday, August 29, 2005.
Service will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Craig Peters will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be Paul Wieskamp, Jim Schaapveld, Bob Schaapveld, Matt Loos, Mark Loos, and John Loos. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nichols, Iowa.
Beverly was born on July 24, 1938, in Coffeyville, Kansas, the daughter of Owen and Margaret Priddy Benning Roles. She and her family moved to Muscatine when she was a teenager. She married William Bekker on December 31, 1960, at the St. Mathias Church in Muscatine.
She and William had resided in Muscatine until 1999, when they moved to Davenport.
Those surviving her include her husband, William Bekker of Davenport; one daughter, Lisa Bauer and husband Floyd of Davenport; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Brandon Bauer of Davenport; and two sisters, Rita Smith and husband Jim of Augusta, Georgia, and Pat Loos and husband Harold of Muscatine.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Roles.

Marie C. Bekker, 85, of Muscatine, died Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Lutheran Homes.
Service will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Chaplain Vicki Pedersen of Lutheran Homes will officiate. Casket Bearers will be Lynn Kokemuller, Jeffrey Kokemuller, Doug Rogers, and David Kokemuller. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Lutheran Homes.
She was born on April 6, 1920, in Muscatine, the daughter of Art and Tryntje VanDerVos Van Bochove. Her first married was to Vernon Longstreth on October 16, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1959. She later married Edward J. Bekker on December 30, 1961 in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Kokemuller and husband, Lynn, of Muscatine; two grandchildren, Jennifer Rogers and husband, Doug, of Bloomington, Illinois, and Jeff Kokemuller and wife, Darcie, of Muscatine; three great-grandchildren, Kaylynn Rogers, Rebecca Rogers and Madison Kokemuller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one sister, and one grandson in infancy.

Ruth Anne Bekker, 54, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Honorary Bearers will be Thomas Summitt, Ralph Meerdink, and David Goetzman. Casket Bearers will be Jacob White, Tom Guck, Kevin Guck, Barry Young, Gary Wieskamp, Bob Schaapveld, and Jason Summitt. Burial will be St. Mary's Cemetery, Nichols.
Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Community Y Special Olympics Program.
She was born on March 25, 1952, in Muscatine, the daughter of Bernard Joseph and Mildred Gertrude Schaapveld Bekker.
She was a graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree.
She was a member of the St. Mary Church; she worked with the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team, and was involved with the Big Brother/Big Sister Program.
Survivors include two brothers, Bill Bekker of Davenport, and Donald Bekker of Muscatine; two nieces, Lisa Bauer and husband, Floyd, of Davenport, and Cindy White of Muscatine; great niece and great nephews Caitlin Bauer, Brandon Bauer, and Jacob White; and many special friends.
