I don't know if you were able to stay in touch with Alan Bel, my cousin. I just learned he passed away in 07. I am new to this kind of research but would love to find out more. My name before marriage was Sandra Jean Bel. Father was Lawrence Wayne Bel born Feb. 22, 1919. I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Robert Bell from Sussex, NJ, b. 1755, d. 1738 Bellville, Richland, OH

I am looking for parents and wife(s) of Robert Bell b. 1755, possibly in Sussex Co, NJ. He was living in Sussex Co in 1777 to about 1796. He moved to Belmont Co, OH around 1796 traveling through Allegheny/Washington Co, PA. In 1813 he moved to Bellville, Richland Co, OH where he died and left a will (executed in 1837). I am descended through Sarah b. 1777 in NJ, who married Josiah Philips and lived and died in Library, Allegheny Co, PA.

Any sources about Robert's parents or wife(s) would be helpful.

looking for William Bell, born in Monroe or Decatur Georgia, was married to my grandmother Inez Damon who I think was born in the Carolina's. I am saying that William was born around 1892? My daddy Ralph Albert was also born in the south but moved to the north. They spelled their last name bell, belle, bel. If you can help. Yoller.

If your ggrandfather is John H Bel, then your ggrandmother is Carolina Powell. Her brother Thomas Price Powell is my ggrandfather. As you probably knnow Carolina's parents are Jacob Powell and Mary Unverzagt. Would love to exchange info.

Gary I came across a William Bel in Reno, his father William lived in Hebo, Or. this was in 1981, I visited both of thise people and the elder Bel Had a picture of his grandfather that looked exactly like the one i have of my grandfather {John Hamilton Bel} he denied a relation to me. I could not prove weather that is true, but some things he told me was not true as far as I could document. Would you be related to them?
I would like to trade information.

I'm sorry I hadn't checked the board in a while. Yes that might be my uncle William Arnold Bel. I don't know where he is. My grandfather was living in Hebo Oregon at one point. I just got my files back after a recent visit home. I can't tell for sure yet about any relationship with your grandfather (I was checking the boards to ascertain just that). I'm sorry I hadn't checked in a while. I'd assumed I'd get an automatic e-mail from the board when a reply had been posted. Maybe it got lost in the junk mail I get... I'm actually living in Tokyo right now. I don't know of any of my family still living in New Orleans. My great-grandfather William Arnold Bel who was born 13 Dec. 1889 had a brother Francis Arthur Bel (born? married to Edna Devine). I have a few photos {Eola lillian Sarran, Katie Mennegay, Charles A. Sarran, Emma J. Junek, Edward Pierre Bel) and some records family gave me a copy of a while back. I'm just now taking the time to verify the documentation of the charts. Two Bel Lines from Haute Savoie, France

There are TWO (2) Bel Family Lines. They are related, but back in Haute Savoie, France - before the two lines came to New Orleans. I have the pedigree and am working on a gedcom for the Bels. In short, anyone who knows their ancestor is John Hamilton Bel is closely related. Anyone with the Boutte or "Antoine Bel" ancestor is closely related.
Those in the South Louisiana area (New Orleans, Tangipahoe, Lake Charles areas) are all cousins, but to different degrees. Also the Bels that moved to San Antoine, Texas (like Alan Bel who is now living in UK) come from the "John Hamilton" line.
I'm at work right now, so I don't have my files in front of me, but I will elaborate on the two different lines in a future message.
