Ok no Jim Jr. I don't know why I was thinking that. My grandpa (Richard) was in the army during the Korean war. The story was he took the tank over by the time he got there the war was over. LOL He was stationed in Germany for awhile. I have pictures of him too from when he was in the army. Richard (my grandpa) worked a few jobs. He worked for a grocery/gas station here, the town and for a man who delivered water to people who had wells and needed water because they were out. He and my grandma (Virginia Northrop) and my great grandma (Athelia Roller Northrop) would take us in their motor home almost every weekend camping. We went a lot to many places. Grandpa died when I was 9. He was putting up signs for the town. The no parking between November to April signs. He was the passenger, he got out by the time the driver got out (which wasn't very long) and to the back of the truck my grandfather was dead. He had an irregular heart beat and it went off and he died from it. I miss him terribly he was my hero! You and I have that in common, our grandfather's meant everything to us. Too bad time is so short, I would give anything to have more time with him. My grandmother (Virginia) died in 1998 and great grandma (Athelia) died 2 weeks later in 1999. Grandma was in a coma during my finals my freshman year in college. That was rough. Thank God I went to college close enough I could come see her. Christmas was really rough that year. It's rough now but not as bad.
Yes Great Grandpa was a big man. I don't know much about him. The picture is of him he has a hat on and I believe a trench coat. I've never heard a lot of stories about him, and I don't know him that well. Great Grandma (Marion) didn't tell me much, Aunt Sharon will if I ask her. Aunt Sharon is on here, I could find her for you, she's doing the Belair tree. I'll call her and tell her you're on here if you want.
I'm really glad that we've met. I am happy that we have been able to talk and start to get to know each other! I look forward to knowing you better! Maybe sometime you come up to see Aunt Jeane I can come to Geneva I go to visit friends sometimes, so I can come visit both of you! I'd love to see her again! Then you and I can meet as well! ttyl!
