Hi, Cheri. I'm a great-grandson of Mena's sister Stephanie Gaudette, who married (1) Camille Belair, and (2) Frank St-Martin. I would be interested in comparing notes on our Gaudette/Toupin families. Are you still doing research?
Looking for any info about Thomas Belair family from Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. His son Oliver Thomas Belair was born in St. Paul in 1874 and moved to Red Lake Falls with his family. Oliver married Rose Alma Verboncoeur(Vadeboncoeur?) 1901 in Red Lake Falls. Her father was Moise Vadeboncoeur. I'm not sure if this is the same Thomas Belair that came with Pierre Bottineau in 1879 to settle in the Red Lake County, Minnesota.

My wife's mother was a Belair and her mother was a Verboncoeur

thanks, Terry Torgerson

SURNAME ? SEARCH IMPOSSIBLE JULIE

Help, I am looking for a Julia whose mother was Irish, had children, and died shortly after the last daughter. Supposely she died in Orange, Jefferson Co, Texas and was taken to Louisiana by an old couple, possible Jules Bellard or Jules Matte when the child was only eight or nine days old. Her name was Julie or Julia and she eventually took as a mate a LeBleu and then latter then a Jeanis. My mother-in-law knows very little of this ancestor. they lived in the Church Point area or about that area. Please help.

Hi Sandra, thanks so much for your reply. I wish I had any information on your great-aunt Susie, but I am afraid I don't. I recently got the 'break' I needed to even start the Belair research, so I'm afraid I'm still in the beginning stages. With the info. you gave me though, I hope I can hunt down a little more--got some microfilms I'm looking at, so maybe I can find something on her. I'll certainly let you know if I find anything! Thanks again and please feel free to keep in touch with me and we can trade info. at some point!

David Belair married Archange Souliere in 1839, in L'Orignal, Prescott Co., Ontario. They had Merril, Marcelline, Timothee, and David. Merril wound up in Saginaw, Michigan.
Hi June, You are probably already aware of the family tree online with Ancestry. It does not show the name of his wife, listed 'spouse unknown', but it does show Joseph Belair, parents Joseph and Louise Pigeon, with several siblings. It also shows 'girl Belair' being a child. Not too much info., but wondered if you had any lucking trying to contact the owner of that information? By the way, you've been very helpful to me in the past . . . thank you!

I've seen these records in the Houle Repertoire des Marriages -Comte Prescott concerning children of Olivier Belair & Marg. Balthazar: David married (1) Archange Bellardin on Apr. 16, 1839 (2) Celine Girouard on Sept. 6, 1858. Mathilde married (1) Jean-Baptiste Monet or Monette on Feb. 9, 1858 (2) Marcel Joly on Sept. 7, 1874. Levi married Marie Rochon on Jan. 12, 1858.
Levi & Marie had a son Joseph who married my Great-Aunt Susan Robinson, daughter of Sarah Eaton & Joseph Robinson, in VanKleek Hill on June 27, 1906.
I'm told that Susan died in Hamilton, Ontario. Would appreciate any news of Susie.. Did they have children?

Thanks. I would appreciate anything you might find. I've learned that Jos. Belair & Susie Robinson had two sons: Conroy and George. Conroy is buried with his grandparents at St. Finnan's R.C. cemetery in Alexandria, Ontario. The other son. George, supposedly married an Alice, in Twickenham, Middlesex, England, and is believed to have died in England. I could not, however, find him on the Free b-m-d site for England.
Perhaps some Belair's are buried at St. Finnan's. If you can find out from the microfilm for that cemetery, would you please let me know?
