Let me describe mine.

My mother's mother was born in Siberia in 1934 by Sofia Belan. Sofia Belan was originally from Russian Ukraine. Her father's name was Emelian (in Russian language). I believe Emile can be just another spelling. The time of Emile's immigration (1909, as you write) seems to be corresponding. So, I've got a question. Could Emil have any children left in Russia/Ukraine? Or do you know anything about those Sam's children left in Ukrain?
