Oliver and Mary would be my Great-grandparents. They were married in the very late 1800's or early 1900's in the UP of MI. The Belanger/Belonga side resided in the Mackinaw Island/St Ignace region of Upper Peninsula, MI. I've been told that their respective families had lived in Canada prior to moving to the US. They had the following children:
Alvina female,
Louis male,
Rosa,
George,
James,
Abraham and
May (nickname).
Rosa is my grandmother b. 2 Jan 1908 and d. 19 Aug 1992. She married George J. Thorne in the mid 1920's and had five children - Floyd, Clara, Dorothy, Jewell and Althea. Rosa and George were divorced in the mid 1940's.
My recollection of Rosa is that her facial features and coloring resembled that of Indian descent.
I'm very interested in locating data on Rosa and especially her parents.
Got any ideas out there?
