Was Ovide (your grandfather) Ovide Arthur Belanger (the son of Ovila Belanger and Philomene Charron) or was he Jos Ovide Belanger the brother of Ovide Arthur?? Who did Ovid marry? Who did your mother marry? I have the same question as I had in 2007 when I answered your post back then.

I have a Vivian Jeannet Belanger, daughter of J Ovide Belanger and M Lola Bernadette Ledger. Vivian was born 1933, died 2002 and was maried to Mac Bisson and also to Lyle Alfred Bryan.

I have Victor Belanger, son of Charles and Angelique Belanger, married to Carrie J Swett, dau of Samuel & Martha Floyd, on 3 February 1883 in Worcester, Massachusetts. I had no children for this family and no brothers/sisters for Victor. I also do no have the names of his grandparents. Source was the Worcester MA marriage repertoire at ACGS Library in Manchester NH ref # MA14-02.

Pierre Belanger (Francois Regis & Marie Rose Marois) married Louise Gournon (unk parents) in 1820 Quebec. They had a son Joseph Pierre Belanger who married Elisabeth St Jean (Thomas & Sophie Carriere) 13 Jan 1853, Grand Calumet, Pontiac Co, Que at St Anne's. They, in turn, had Joseph, Luce & Elizabeth.

Family #2: (Ref 23834)
Jean Baptiste Chrisostome Belanger (Chrysostome Pierre & M Louise Godin dit Gaudin) married Angelique Forcier dit Fevrier (Pierre & Jeanne St Germain) 16 Oct 1809, St Michel, Yamaska and they had 17 children. Then, Jean Baptiste married Susanne Bibeau (Antoine & Madeleine Yergeau) 16 June 1835, St Frs du Lac, Yamaska Co and they had three children. Then, Jean Baptiste married Theotiste Margaret Rivard (widow of Louis Champeau) on 20 Feb 1841 in Green Bay Wisconsin.

Here is what I have found about this marriage that is a second marriage. The first name is Jean (not Peter). And the father of Jean is Chrisostome as we can see in the first marriage.

I double checked the 1880 census record for Gorham,Coos New Hampshire and John Baptiste was born in New Hampshire , his brother Joseph & Alfred Lewis were born in Lewiston Maine

Louis Belanger had children with Celina - Lea b 1873, Joseph b 1876, Alfred Lewis b 1878 , John Baptiste b 1880 & Adalore b 1883. Louis worked in lumber camps and died by 1900. Celina lived in Gorham ,Coos NH.

You will need to help me out a bit more on this one.
1. Was Celina who married Louis Belanger a Belanger by birth or is that her married name.
2. Coos New Hampshire refers to Coos County. Do you know the name of the town in Coos County?
3. Who did John Baptiste (born 1881) marry? Maiden name please.
4. I assume, since you did not list a surname for Genevieve who married Francois Xavier, you don't know it??

I believe that I am living in Victor Belanger's Marshfield home, as I have several photos and letters from the turn of the century that I found in the attic. He had two daughters, Angelique and Victorine and his wife was a dressmaker.

I have a Marie Hedwig Belanger, born 5 Apr 1869 in Lotbiniere, Daughter of Remi Belanger and Elmire Sevigny. A birth of 1869 would in my opinion make more sense than a marriage. I know nothing about spouse or children. I would appreciate information about the Lotbiniere Belangers if you have it.

No I did not have that census data but this is too far away for me anyway. Anita's marriage record actually says she was a daughter of Eustache Belanger and Evelina (precisely: Evalina) Duclos. Leo Belanger should be the withess from her side and Rita Boucher from Richard's. I am based in Poland. It is hard (end expensive) to do a remote research. Specifically that the US offices take only checks which are not in operation in Europe any more.

It seems Anita L. (called "Pat" or "Patsy") was Leo Belanger's sister. She was born ca. 1917 in Holyoke, MA. That's about everything I have. I have a copy certficate of her marriage with Richard Czerniejewski, on Jan. 6, 1936 in Holyoke and a scanned marriage notice from some newspaper (Richard's name was misspelled as Czecniejeiwak). Anita lived at 87 Park St. They got married at the Precious Blood church (priest Joseph A. Remi). Leo Belanger and Rita Boucher were witnessing the marriage. I hoped you can help me with Anita's birth and death dates! What the number 118978 refers to? Do you have a family tree here or is it your private reference number? I have a free account only so if you wish me to contribute to the tree you have to invite me first.

I cannot place Anita in the family but I do think I have what Rita was looking for back in 2000. She said " My father came to New New Bedford, Massachusetts to live with his aunt and uncle. Their surname was LaLiberte." [This would be Exilia Belanger and Elisee Laliberte ref 13919]. Armand's parents were listed as Thomas Belanger and Diane Begesy in the Holyoke Mass, Precious Blood marriage repertoire. Thomas' parents were Narcisse & Emelie Guimond. Narcisse parents were Pierre & Flore Auger. Pierre parents were Jean Baptiste & Marguerite Beaudet. Jean Baptiste parents were Francois & Elisabeth Crequis. Francois parents were Charles & M Madeleine Jobin and then Francois & Catherine Voyer; then Charles & Barbe Delphine Cloutier; then Francois & Marie Guyon 1637, then Francois & Francoise Horlays abt 1611 in France.

I have Eustache Belanger and Evelina Duclos as parents for Leo Belanger born about 25 May 1911 in Holyoke & married to Geneva Bergeron (Alfred & Alma Laroche) 25 June 1941 in Holyoke at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Geneva born about 7 Nov 1913 in Aldenville, Mass. I do not have Eustache in a family, however. I'm sure I must have his family in my data but I don't have him connected. I'm sure you can provide me with that connection?

I do not have my family tree online and probably never will. the number 118978 is my own reference number so I can find the person quickly when replying to correspondence. Eustache Belanger is individual number 118978 in my database. Now that I have added Anita as a sister to Leo, she is number 150725. I have very little birth information. The way I use, as a non relative, is to look at social security death indexes if the person lived during social security times. If a family member is seeking the info, I recommend they write to the town of birth and request a copy of the birth record. I don't know if Holyoke has vital statistics online or not. Same thing for death dates. I find no Rita Boucher in the close family, which would have given us substantiation of Anita being the daughter of Eustache Belanger and Evelina Duclos. This is in the family of Narcisse Belanger & Emelie Guimond, parents of Thomas who married Diane "Billy" Begesy who I believe to be the parents of Eustache. For now, I have placed Eustache in this family with the reasoning that the Eyce listed in the census was actually Eustache. I think you have a copy of the census, right? If not, here it is.

Wish I could help you more but I have not yet been able to connect Doris (Louis) to the main Belanger line.

Antonio Belanger died in Montreal, May 31 1992, and was buried in Lachute. Antonio and Cecile Denault had only 2 daughters, Helene (b. 1931) and Ghyslaine (b.1935).

Antoine, his father, owned a mill in Wendover, Ontario. It burned down in app. 1920, leaving the family fairly poor and cutting his youngest son, Antonio's education short. Antoine had 6 siblings (Meranza, Wenceslav, Aurore, Alfred/Joseph, Maximilienne, Antonio and Cecile. Cecile Belanger married her brother in law, Cecile Denault's brother.

For Maximilienne Goulet Belanger, Dec 19 1876 in St-Luc de Courran is correct.

Do you have any information about her husband's father? Doris Belanger? I'm told his name was Doris Louis Belanger.

I have his grand children through Antoine Belanger with Maximilienne Goulet: Meranza, Wenceslav, Aurore (b. 1895), Alfred (b. 1899), Maximilienne (b. 1901), Antonio (1903-1992), and Cecile (1907).

and his wife, Domithilde (Mathilde) Masse.

the only thing i can correct for a fact is the death location of antonio - which is montreal. he was burried in lachute (he's my grand father).

PS: Doris/Louis was born in Hull, Quebec and died in Wendover, Ontario. He married in Hull, Quebec, and they moved to Ottawa, Ontario after the marriage. I have his death as 1891.

Emile and Phebola were myAunt and Uncle. I am the son of Leonard and Madeline Belanger. We grew up about a mile from them in Caribou. There is a pile of us...if you talk to someone long enough from "the county" you"ll find you're related.Ha!
