Say Hay Cuzz!! to answer your ??? of "BELCH LINES"...Belch is pronounced BALCH in Germany...Means BellMaker...all my line were, have been, or still am people who worked the forges as blachsmiths, iron workers,foundry,boilermakers,machinest....ect,ect...1st. Bauden-Bauden, blach Forest, Germany...Whole CLAN ,,,about 40 to 50 loaded up & went to England. Some stayed. some marred. some went to Scottland, Ireland,. Passage to U.S. was made..Departed Merry Old, to Ellis Island N.Y...Loaded 9 wagons with family, tools, pots & pans, & my great,great Grean-father wes 9 years old & had picked up enough English, was put in lead wagon to read road sighns, led CLAN to Albenr Sound, N.C. THE BASE NAME IS "BELCH"..I was teased, made fun of,joked about in 1st. & 2nd grades...till I gought enough,,,FOUGHT TO SCHOOL, DURING RESESS,LUNCH, p.e., THEN ALL THE WAY HOME..yOU SEE, i WAS proud OF MY NAME, WHO i WAS, & WHERE OUR FAMILYS CAME FROM...Still AM!! The Name "BELCH" comes from Germant..It Means "BELL MAKER"..All My Line Were Blacksmiths..About 40 to 50 of my CLAN..left Bauden-Bauden,Germ, Migrated TO England....some stayed..some married in Rngland & brought them with the Tribe....Got to Ellis Island...loaded up 9 wagons & went to Alberl Sound, N,C...then to the 4 winds...Contact me @ bullmoosebelch@msn.com.."LATER" your CUZ. Cole Belch, Carrollton, KY

I have a photograph of a horse training stable c. 1890 in Carrollton, KY. The establishment is called "Bond Bros. Stable", and it stood just north of the courthouse. The owners were A. Sydney Bond and his brother William, sons of James A. Bond. One of the persons in the photo is identified as Cole Belch. He appears to have been born ~1855-1865.

I also have a receipt from "Belch & Banta Main Street Livery Stable", Carrollton, KY (one block from the Bond Bros.) from 1898.

Marriages, Carroll Co: Banta George W & Belch Lydia A 1873 3-228 W, so the families Banta and Belch intermarried.

There is a Columbus Belch in the area said (Worldconnect) to have been born 1849 and died 1872, and his wife is listed as a widow in the 1880 census, so this is not Cole Belch.

Can anyone identify Cole Belch, or the owners of Belch & Banta?

I happened to see your post concerning Chip Belch. He was a close childhood friend of mine until I went away to college. Regrettably, he was killed in Hopewell, VA. and as far as I know, from hear-say, only his sister remains from his immediate family and lives in Chester, VA. If this sounds right, let me know and I will try to get her married name so you can gain her address.

Clara May Belch, MO or TX

I am looking for the parents of my ggrandmother, Clara May Belch. She was born in 1885 or 1895 in MO. She married Jessie Morrow in 1914. I have been told that Clara May's mother was pregnant with her when they moved from Texas to Missouri. All I know about her family is that she had a sister who died in Arkansas in a "wagon" accident. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, I don't think migrating to america was the cause of name getting to England, if anything they came over from germany with the saxons 5th C and spread from there. However we'll never know as reliable sources from that time are few and far between.

Your timeline looks a little off as well, you're going 4 generations back and you say that a man donated the land parliment was bulit on? The palace of westminster has been on that location since at least 1295 and have been in royal usage since 1016.

Just trying to clarify things!

Hi, David Belch (1988-) from Glasgow, Scotland here. Just wondering if anyone knew the origins of the name, I've read around and haven't been able to find any conclusive sources of origin.

Does anyone know where and how the name has come about?

We’re trying to find out if the following two men named JOSEPH BELCH are one and the same. Both Joseph Belches lived in Tuscarawas Co., OH.

Are JOSEPH BELCH (b. aft. 1811) who was the son of John Belch (b. 1788) & Elizabeth Barnes (b.1788)

and

JOSEPH BELCH (b. 1814) who was the father of Amos Belch (b. 1852) one and the same man?

I have kind of hit a wall with the orgins of John Belch bn around 1890 in England...wife was Ann (maybe maiden name Shaw ??) born 1792 in England.
Still excitedly accepting any info on descendents.

I am related on the paternal side to the Belches who were married into the Wible family living in Gettysburg PA in the 1800's. Specifically I am looking at Cornelia Belch who had 8 siblings born to Mary Potts and John Belch in Blair County.
Does anyone have information on this family or how they might have met up with the Gettysburg Wibles around 1864?
Appreciate any information.

but I just recieved some info from Belleville Ontario and entered it into GedCom. Wilfred E Belch bn 1910 married Ruby Sophia Allure
they had a son Robert Belch and daughter Bernice Belch
I have a complete pedigree if you want it.

I have found my father's half brother his name was Charles Holge Belch Jr born in Watertown NY 9/28/24 Father was Charles H Belch (my grandfather) mother was Carmen A Darby (1st wife) . He might have been in the navy , died 1/9/1977 in Warren, NC.. are there any living relatives out there...you have cousins you might not know about, plus I have Family History and lots of pictures of our grandparents.

I'm new to this whole research business and was wondering if anyone has any information on an Ernest Belch b July 17, 1886; d April 17, 1916?

I believe he was originally from Rickmansworth and eventually made his way to Toronto, Canada. His parents may have been named Henry and Angelina, but I'm not 100% sure.

I recently visited some Belch relatives in Ohio. My Grandmother was a Belch and married a Gregory. She had several brothers that came from England to work the coal mines there.
