HANOVER — Bucky Belcher, 66, of Hanover, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 9th, 2009, from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan.Born on August 24, 1942 at Bluefield, he was the son of the late Odber and Lillie Thompson Belcher.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, A. T. Belcher.Bucky was a retired coal miner, and he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp, where he received two good conduct medals. He attended the Gilbert Church of God, and he fought a good fight and kept the faith so he could be in the presence of the Lord. He was a dedicated member of the Gilbert Volunteer Fire Department and worked with all area fire departments in the local area. He spent his retired life helping others. He reached out and touched so many people's hearts and lives. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Jean Cline Belcher of Hanover; his sister, Phyllis Hale of Bluefield; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.Friends called at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden on Wednesday, May 13th from 6 to 9 p.m. where a celebration of his life was held.Funeral services will be held at the church on Thursday, May 14th with the Rev. Scotty Dingess officiating.Burial will follow in the Justice Memorial Gardens at Justice. Military grave side services will be performed by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #141 of Belfry Kentucky.Pallbearers are Mark Toler, Mike Tolley, Jerry Grimmett, Todd Hamrick, Dallas Toler, and Doug Cline.
