This is my first time on this website and I saw you query for 2003. You may have your questions answered by this time but here goes anyway.
Moses' wife was Mary Ann Conley (Cornley, Conlee, etc.) and Moses didnot marry a Smail. Mary Ann did marry a Jacob Smail after Moses died in 1866. No Issue. Their children were George, John, Roby (also my ancestor) Mary and Albert.
You can find the whole family on the 1850 census for Henry County, IL. Hope this helps.

Warren

Moses married Mary Ann Conlee 14 Jan 1836 in NY. The marriage appears in the Marriage Index for Saratoga Co., NY for 1836; first entry on page 8.
He did not marry a Smail but Mary Ann (Conlee)Belding did marry a Jacob Smail after Moses died. No children. Believe he died before 1870. She is listed on the 1880 Powesheik Co., census living with her son Albert Belding. The Moses family lived in Mercer then Fulton before living in Henry Co's., IL. Hope this helps you.
Children of Moses and Mary Ann are George, John Monroe, Roby Ann, Mary A and Albert.

Hi Janet - we have corresponded in the past. I am researching my Belding/Cole lines and would love to see the picture of Henry Belding that you mentioned on the ancestry.com message boards. Roby Ann Belding b. abt. 1842 Illinois was my 2nd great-grandmother. Her father was Moses Belding born ??? in New York. Roby Ann Belding and Henry Cole b. 1836 Venango, PA married and had nine children that I know of. They started out in Illinois and then moved to Iowa. Henry Cole died in Nebraska. I don't know if or where Henry may fit into my Belding line - but would love to see it.

SEEKING CONTACT WITH DESCENDANTS OF BELDING AND COLE LINE. I will share what I have.

Thank you

Jennifer KIRK Jones
That is now broken up into towns in
the Birkshire County (?) area, U betcha.
I think. I need to research that at home
if you need a posative absolute answer to
that. I must have gone through many towns getting
the information I needed between the Historical
Society being in one town, the land records in
another, etc. Have no idea who the father of
Henry Belding was so I cannot tell you. Wish
I did. Quiet family, kept to themselves as
I gather by trying to research them.

Bible Found for Elijah Belding

hello, I found a Bible at Stone House in Chesterfield, NH. It belonged to an Elijah E. Belding of Northfield, MA. Apparently he got it in 1836 and there are a few deaths listed in there. Also there is a letter written by him (I think) to his deceased wife, Hattie. If you are interested in purchasing this Bible. please contact stonehouse@sover.net

Good luck!

Karen A.
Dear Evie and Jackie,
My husband is descended from Richard and his son John. A friend is descended from Samuel and I know another person who is descended from one of the 3.
I would be interested in anything you have on the Beldins. I have pedigree charts and fgs back to Osmond, abt 1000. But, it looks like you have some meat on your Beldin's bones! I have only dates and some wives here and there.
I would be willing to share my gedcom, but I was given it by someone who supposedly had it traced by a pro--however, there is not one ounce of documentation attached! We have been working our way slowly back and so far what we have matches what we were given, but I can't guarantee anything.
I would love to read your 333 page Word document on Beldins. My husband's descended from Sylvester and settled in Emporium, Cameron County, Penn until my husband's father joined the Air Force and eventually settled in California. My husband and I are now in Washington State after he spent 32 years in the Air Force.
Would love to share whatever I have with you.

Thanks, Margie
Dear Jackie,
A coule of weeks ago, my son came across a picture from White Bluffs (no longer exists-is now Richland)of a Beldin's Ice Cream Parlor. We never thought any Beldin's came east of Mississippi. Now we were surprised! I just read your e-mail and your relatives died in Seattle. You may be interested in the site with the pictures of the ice cream parlor. there are people in the picture:
http://www.hanford.gov/doe/culres/graphics/photos/photo1.gif

Margie

Martha Jackson

Did Stephen Belding (1720-1813) have two wives or just one? Ancestry says that he first married Abigail Ramsdell and , 20 years later, he married Martha Jackson. and had 5 children by her. However, The IGI says that Stephen had married a woman named Martha circa 1765. It also states that his son , Stephen, married Martha Jackson in the first week of November of that same year. Was it a common custom for the son to inherit his father's wife or is there an error somewhere? I have no info as to Martha's date and place of birth. Please help me out of my dilemma!
