My grandmother was Josephine Belisle born in Detroit in 1848. Her father's name was Theodore but I really don't have any info on him except according to one of the censuses I had looked up her parents were both French Canadians.
I don't know if this info is any help or not. It was my father's father that was named Joseph and his name was Joseph La Porte born in Ottawa, Ontario in 1838.
