FATAL SHOOTING AT SPRINGDALE MONTANA
BUTTE, November 10 -Sheriff Young, of Park County, was shot and instanctly killed, and his deputy, Frank Beller, fatally wounded last night, by an unknown man whom they were attempting to arrest.
The shooting occurred in the Northwestern Pacific depot. The murderer was traced to the depot by the sherriff and his deputy, who wanted him for an assualt upon a man a t Logan the night before. As soon as the officers entered the station, the murderer opened fire on them without warnigng. Sherriff Young dropped dead at first shot and Beller fatally wounded by the second bullet.
The murderer jumped through a window and escaped, but was later captured by a posse.
