Hi, I am Angeline Bellerose Reid's granddaughter. I have a photo of Calixte and Malvina Morin Bellerose on their wedding day. If I ever learn how to scan the photo I will send it to you. Growing up in Lansingburgh, NY my grandmother lived with us. She used to have many visits from her sisters and family in Canada. As a young girl I remember visiting Estras and Albina Bellerose in Cohoes. Again I have photos of the family and my daughter is going to help me scan them. I am interesed in staying in touch and learning more about our families. Thanks for all the information. Christine and I have connected and I'm happy to be connecting with you.
I am looking forward to hearing from you. I have the family back to 1350. The original family name was RIPVAT then RIVAT which it still is in France. God only knows haw it got to RIVAL in Canada, Probably a mistake and it may have been to much of a problem to change it back at the time. Have a nice day.

I had the pleasure of meeting some of my New Hampshire/Bellerose relatives some time back, including John Bellerose who has since passed. Some of the information came from him. Other pieces are gathered from unnamed sources of notations on photos, etc.

I am feared that you have a little false information on the Rival dit Bellerose family. Joseph Octave Rival dit Bellerose was born 25 Nov 1829 in Yamaska, Quuebec, Canada. He was married to Grace ( Emelie) Aurelie LETENDRE 16 Jan 1855 at St-Aime, Richelieu, Quebec Canada. They had 8 children. He was the son of Jean Baptiste Rival dit Bellerose and Marie Henriette (HENEAU) HENEAULT-dit-CANADA. Jean was the son of Alexandre RIVAL-dit-BELLEROSE who was the son of Jean (RIVAT) RIVAL dit BELLEROSE and Marie Angelique JOLY-DELBEC. Jean was born 21 Mar 1734 at Frainbois France. He is the one who came over to Canada with the French army. On March 15 1753 Jean voluntarily enlisted in the French Army for a 6 yr. term. He became a grenadier in the Berry Regiment. His height was 5 feet 5 in. and 6 lines high. His uniform consisted of: White pants Red collar and cuffs Yellow buttons Double pockets with 3 buttons on each side 5 buttons on the sleeves Hat was bordered with gold. Jean had 13 children. I hope you will contact me at henry469@metrocast.net I think I can figure out what you are looking for and if I can connect you to the Rival Bellerose family I will send you an invite to the private Rival Bellerose web site. Hope to hear from you soon as I am 83 years old.

I have the following note among family photos. I am uncertain of the author or the accuracy.

Octave Rival born in France; sailed to Canada on a war mission during the French Revolution (1848); never returned to France; married Aurelie Letendre in Canada. Changed his family name to Bellerose. Rival dit Bellerose.

Octave Bellerose: son: Jean Nathan Bellerose born in Canada, Saint David, Yamaska, 1854; married Elizabeth Girard in 1878, also born in Canada, St. David, Yamaska, 1855.

George Alma Bellerose was one of Jean's (John's) sons, born Jan 10, 1884, married Julie Desruisseaux, had 6 kids including my grandfahter, Stoland/Sterling Bellerose.
They all claim Suncook, NH as home. I understand that Pembroke and Allenstown are the incorporated areas on either side of Suncook.

I'm waiting for a copy of the family history to be mailed. I'll share that information when it's received and scanned. Delia and Maria Exidia are one and the same. My mother's cousin remembered that they alternated between calling her "Aunt Delia" and "Aunt Exidia". I hope to glean more information once the document is received.

Hi. I believe you are talking about Calixte Rival-dit-Bellerose married to Molvina Morin. They wre married 27 June 1875 in St Joseph Church in Cohoes, NY. I only have 4 children listed for this family. Philomina (Sattie) 1882, Esdras 1886, Delia 1889, Angeline Abt 1892. I would love to see any documents you may have on the other children. I have the family back to the 1500s in France. The original family name was RIPVAT which was changed to RIVAT which is still used in France and a few in Canada and the US. Jean Rivat used RIVAL and had to use the dit name Bellerose when he got to Canada in the Frence army in 1735. There were about 15 families that used the dit-Bellerose name while in the Army. Some still do. I would like to work with you if you wish. You have a lot of living cousins. Contact me at henry469@metrocast.net

Bellerose from St. Cesaire, Rouville, Montérégie, Quebec

Hi - I'm trying to get details on the marriage and lineage of Frederic Bellerose (b. 1847 in Rouville, Quebec d. 1923 in Connecticut) and Cesarie Auclair (1845-1926), who were married and lived in North Grosvenordale Connecticut from about 1865 until their deaths. I know from a biography of their son, Reverend Ulderic Oscar Bellerose, that they came to the US from St. Cesaire, Quebec Canada in 1865 and that they had eight children. I descend from Wilfred Hyacinthe Bellerose (1875-1927) and his wife Louise Lamoureux (1874-1922).

Also, I'm trying to find out how Fred and Cesarie may be related to the other Bellerose's in North Grosvenordale, such as Jean Baptise Bellerose (and wife Rose Lacroix), who were old enough to be Frederic's parents or aunt and uncle. Baptismal records at St. Joseph's Church in North Grosvenordale suggest that they knew each other, as they "witness" the children's baptisms. For example, Joseph Bellerose (b. abt 1842) who witnessed the baptism of Fred's son, may be his older brother?

I'd appreciate any help you can provide

Hi Whalewatcher. I checked my records and Louis William Lancetteb. 1883 in Farboult MN. and Helen Cecile (Bellrose) Bellerose are members of my family. I believe they died in st Paul, MN. They had 14 Children, all born in St Paul. One of the children was named Marie Ernestine J. Lancette, born 23 Aug 1921 . She was married three times to a Olson a Nelson and a Nash. There was also a Evelyn V. Marie Lancette born in 1928 married to a Gfrerer.
If I had more information such as your name, the name of your adopted parents, your birth date and the year you were adopted I may be able to trace your family. I have researched the William Lancette/Helen Bellrose family in St. Paul and the Jean Baptiste family in St. Paul. Nothing there. All I have is what the records state, but much I think is made up. Would any of your people have been in Chicago/.Minnespolis area in 1942/43. Anyone ever talk of a Joyce Failor Neal in Minneapolis? How did you get the name Rita? I have been seaching for 34 years.
