BELLIN - Mildred Grosberg, died on Friday, February 15, 2008, in Tulsa, OK. She was born September 7, 1908, in Schenectady, NY, the eldest daughter of grocery pioneer Joseph E. Grosberg, who founded one of New York's leading supermarket chains, and Mrs. Rae Grosberg. After graduating from Schenectady High School at age 15, she entered Smith College. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude (with honors), and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Soon after her 1931 marriage to Dr. Harold Bellin, of Albany, NY, she began writing a series of cookbooks for the Bloch Publishing Company of New York City. Her classic, The Jewish Cook Book has sold in all parts of the world. The 1958 revision has been updated and is still in demand. For several years, she wrote a syndicated weekly column about Jewish cooking, as well as articles for magazines such as Gourmet on the same subject. Following the death of Dr. Bellin in 1970, she moved to Tulsa where she became a volunteer for several organizations. She was particularly active in the Tulsa chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women. She remained vital throughout her 99 years and continued to live independently until a week before her death. She is survived by: a son, Richard A. Bellin of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Waldman of Scottsdale, AZ and Santa Fe, NM, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Mildred was greatly loved and admired by all who knew her. She will be missed. Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel,
