I just recieved a copy of my GGGGrandfather Oscar H. Belman's Pension file from the Civil War. In it it verified that he had a brother Charles N. Belman who fought in the same regiment as he did (18th Michigan Inf) It also mentioned a Porter A Belman but not what relation he was. Seeking more information on this family. Rumor has it they spent some time in PA. I have not found this connection. I have found them from early 1800's in Riga Lenawee Co MI and Monroe County Michigan.
Charles N. Belman was married to a woman named Cathrine
Oscar was born about 1834 and died of Rhuematic heart trouble May 23rd 1879. His Wife was Mary Elizabeth Albring. I know of Four children but the file sates there were seven in all
The children I know are:
William Harrison Belman who took the name Bellman upon his marriage to Anna K Huber
Rosa A. Belman Who married a man last name Hittler
George Belman Who lived with his mother Mary Elizabeth Albring Belman Allen after Oscar's death
Mary R. Belman Who died as a child.
Any info on this family or any off shoots would be greatly appreicated.
Thanks in advance for any help.
