I am Gerald Anthony Bello, born in Plainville, CT, educated in Boston, Paris, and Philadelphia, where I received a Ph.D. in English literature at the University of Pennsylvania and where I was an associate professor at Drexel University and chair of Drexel's Health Services Administration Department. I am now retired and live in Bristol, CT.

I have quite a bit of information on Generoso Bello (my father) and his father Rocco Bello, born in Bagnoli Irpino to Generoso Bello, originally from Montella, the neighboring town to Bagnoli Irpino. What also appears on this site regarding Bello history from Montella was written by my brother. Should anyone wish to know more about the Bellos from Bagnoli Irpino and Montella who emigrated to Argentina, Niles (Ohio), Marcus Hook (PA), and Norristown (PA), please get in touch with me. I'm at gerabell@gmail.com

Hi, my dad paternal great great grandparents were born in Spain. Their names are Lucas Bello and Juana Suarez. I don't know where in Spain they were born. My paternal grandfather uncle told my grandfather that Lucas and Juana immigrated to Cuba in a cargo ship that was caring butter. My great great grandfather Eduardo Bello (The son of Lucas and Juana) was born in Artemisa, Cuba. Where in Cuba is your husband family from?

If you wish to speak to me through email, my email is: garciagabriel445@gmail.com

I could've said that another way but it was much more fun listing Great 5 times lol.

I would love to know more about the Moreau side.
My wife appears to be a direct descendent of Donato Bello and Moreau through her Sonnier line: Darrell/Lorenza Cantoni, Ely/Vera Weatherford, Etienne/Armina Leger, Florian/Marie Syphalide Carriere, Sylvain II/Josephine-"Judith" Bello. Judith was daughter to Donato Bello and Susanne Moreau. Would love to know if, based on related literature, Donato and/or Judith were "Mulatto." If anyone else is familiar w/ my wife, Tammy's line, please correspond w/ me. We still have lingering questions to complete our "Bowles Family Tree." Darrell Bowles

my name is kevin bello and my father Jose Alberto Bello was born in cuba, i don't know anything about my last names origin and i was hoping this would help. I'm deeply interested in my last name and the history of it. My father did not know who his father(my grandfather) was so instead of taking his last name he took his mother's last name. His mother was Franchesca Bello (i don't know how to spell the name). That's all i know.

Anne, It's been a long time since the Bello reunion in Lake Charles. It was a real treat to meet so many of you. I'll never forget that you wre so proud that your ancestors were "free" but that charming husband of yours couldn't say the same for his folks. You surely reminded him of this fact.
I'm Still looking for information on the wife of Pierre
(son of Vallery). If you happen across such, please advise.
Jane Bellow
jbellow@peoplepc.com

I know this post was a long time ago butI hope this information is of use. My Grandmother Mercedes Garcia Bello travelled to La Coruna Spain in 1972 to visit the Bello side of the family. Mercedes Daughter of Andres Bello & Toribia Beritan, Andres Bello Leon son of Fernando Bello and Mercedes Leon Bazan married 1855. There is a log of all the Bello tree in the LDS church archives . These Bello in the Archives were entered there by a Leon Bello family member. I belive that Fernando Bello might be retated to your side. Fernando Hernandez Bello died 2/20/1912 and is buried in Manzanillo Cuba Cementary was born in Spain from La Coruna area. These are in the public online archives from Archivo Historico Municipal Manzanillo, Cuba under the section of Estrangeros that has a record of deaths in manzanillo and burials of persons born abroad. Im am trying to link Fernando Hernandez Bello as well. E-Mail f-garcia@sncglobal.net Thanks Frank

Dear Andre,
I know absolutely nothing about Miguel Bello except that he married Emmie Louise Lowe 26 Oct 1889. He fathered my grand mother Angelique born 14 Dec 1890. Miguel was a seaman of some type and died before Angelique was born. Rumor is that he died in the Tampa, FL area.

I found the following information on the 1870 US census for Key West, FL:
Page 107
Line 35: Bello, Miguel; Age 6, M, W
Line 33: Bello, Justa; Age 12, F, W
Line 34: Bello, Edwirgis; Age 10, F, W
Line 36: Bello, Claytde; Age 3, F, W

Unfortunately the 1880 US census was lost in a fire.

Brenda

I know that the Bello Family were Gallego from the Province of La Coruna, They repeatedly tried to prove their heraldy and noble blood, but at the end they returnrd or joined the dofferent military orders. this sent them throught the world. The most famours is Don Anres Bello born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1781sociologist philosopher, writer and diplomat. I visited the family in la coruna over ten years ago. Part of the Bello family immigrated to Cuba. I know that the elder Bello Fernando Bello Married Mercedes Bazan 1855 and had Andres , Fernando, and more,. Fernando was killed during the 10 years war against spain, Andres is my GG gardfather. I can ask my 90 yer old Great Aunt daughter of Andres to supply me with the names of her bothers . The only Jose that I have is Jose Ramon Fortesa Batista a different branch and a child of a Bello female.
