Sorry, we do not have proof of the maiden name of Elizabeth, wife of the first John BELT of Maryland. She was related in some way to Richard TIDINGS, who made his will 2 Feb. 1687, Anne Arundel Co., MD. The will named John BELT as an overseer, and later land records name cousin John BELT.
George THOMPSON conveyed 375 acres of "Nanjemoy" to Richard TYDINGS of Anne Arundel Co., 2 Oct. 1685. Michael & wf. Charity PASQUINET of Bath Co., NC, 27 Dec. 1726, gave power of attorney to cousin John BELT to sell (their share of) "Nanjemoy." Michael PASQUINET of Bath Co., NC, 12 Feb. 1727, and wf. Charity, daughter and devisee of Richard TYDINGS, conveyed 375 acres to John BELT, Jr., by John BELT, Sr., their attorney.

We also do not have proof of the maiden name of Lucey, wife of the third John BELT. Her first name is from Quaker Records of Northern Maryland, 1716 - 1800, by Henry C., PEDEN: John BELT & Lucey had Lucey, b. 25 of ninth month 1744; Mary, 30 of fourth mo., 1747; & Joseph, b. 10 of fourth mo. 1750, per records of Gunpowder Monthly Meeting. Normally the Quaker records listed the first month as March, so the ninth month was November and the fourth month June.
