Thomas A. Belzer, 79,
of Mt. Pleasant,
died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010
in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mt. Pleasant. Tom was born April 1, 1931, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late Louis and Mary Loboria Rotella Belzer. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Tom was a graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School with the class of 1949 and was a proud veteran of the Air Force serving during the Korean War as a sergeant in the Military Police. Tom retired as an inspector for the former Robertshaw Control Co. and had previously worked for the former Walworth Valve Co. He was a loving father and grandfather who adored his family.
Tom is survived by his loving family; his sons, Terry T. Belzer and Tracy and Todd A. Belzer and Christine and their children, Ashley Marie and Alexei Anna.
He is also survived by his sister and brother, Mary Belzer Caruso, of Norvelt,
and Samuel Belzer and his wife, Connie, of Dearborn, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents,
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Anna Grosser Belzer, in 1999; sisters, Angeline DePalma and Virginia Belzer; and brothers, Jack, Joseph, Edward, Louis, Frank and James Belzer. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. Tom's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating. Interment with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at the Amber House and the Arnold Palmer Cancer Pavilion for the kindness and care given to Tom during his illness. My grandmother was Jessie Belzer Hunt, daughter of John and Mary Jane Wilson Belzer. She was one of five children: Ozzie, Garrie, Mary, Sally and Dora. Jessie was born in 1888 and passed in December, 1963. She had 5 children: Calvin, Melvin, Audrey, Betty and Georgia.

If you ever find out if John Belzer was a brother to George Jacob Belzer, please let me know. I think there is some connection because in the city directories they lived close and sometimes in the same house. thanks, Judy

Do you know where Agnes came from and to what port she went and when? The 1900 census says she had 12 kids but 7 were living. Agnes, the oldest child and daughter died in Feb. of that year. All the other census has them at 8 kids, so 4 must have died as babies or whatever. I have some deaths of kids and I'm trying to see who they belonged to. I have birth, death, and marriage for the 8 and their kids if you want.

I am searching for emigrants from Klein-Winternheim, Germany to North America in the 19th century to illustrate village history.

My interest lies in learning more about Agnes Keller and descendants. I have 12 children for her, birth/death only for a couple. For Peter Belzer only birth 1869.

He is related thru the Binz line. My GG Grandfather was Julius Binz, the owner of Broadway Brewing and Malting Company. Thank you so much for the info!It helped fill in alot of names I didnt have!!! Heather

I am related in a round about way, I think. I think his grandfather was my great great grandfather's brother. My mom has burial plot certificates and that family is in them. I have a card with this next stuff. Julius C. was buried in "The Mount Calvary and Pine Hill Cemetery." Pine Ridge Road, Buffalo, New York. Died 24 May 1978.(85 yrs) Lot #85 Sect. 4 His father Charles W. died 25 Aug. 1919--(51 yrs) Anna Binz, his mother, died 9 Jan 1957--( 86 yrs)Ethel L. Boller, his wife, died 11 May 1978-( 2 weeks before him 81 yrs)I never noticed that.--Betty K.Frank, his daughter died 15 July 1955--(34 yrs.)--Frank X., brother of Anna, died 10 July 1922--(41 yrs) They owned and ran the "Binz Brewery" in Buffalo. I think that's what it was called. I have Julius' grandparents and their children if you are interested. The 1930 census has him and Ethel and 3 children, Norman 11, Betty 9, and Audrey 3 1/2. I went to high school with a girl who was a Boller and related to them. Ethel's maiden name was Boller. My guy I'm having trouble with is Peter Belzer. Would be a cousin to Julius. He's in census, a will, and a city directory as a printer in 1886 and he disappears after that. I know he died before 1914. How is Julius related to you?

I have seen a list of thousands of people who were ran out of France in 16xx because they were Hugonauts. A lot of Pelser people went to England and Ireland as well as Spain and later to South Africa. My work is on Pelsers in Switzerland county, Indiana. If the name were Beltzer, it must have been years before the Immigration from France. I would like to see the name'Beltzer' in original writing way back to see if there was a mistake in transcription. I have one document where on the same page it is spelled Pelser, Pelsor and Pelsir. But most documents I have seen before 1800 have been spelled Pelser.

WAPELLO, Iowa - Lila Laugen Belzer, 86 of Wapello, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at the Wapello Nursing & Rehab Center.

Her body has been cremated and a private burial will be at the Bluff Creek Cemetery, in Oskaloosa.

Visitation will be at Lila’s home, 727 Washington St., Wapello. Memorial gifts may be given to the United Methodist Church. The Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello is providing the care and arrangements.

Lila was born May 1, 1922, the daughter of Louis and Edna Omodt Laugen, in Houston, Minnesota. She married Frank Belzer on June 19, 1949, in Houston. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1993.

She graduated from Houston High School and attended Winona State College at Winona, Minnesota. She taught schools in northern Iowa for several years. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church at Wapello.

She is survived by her son, Jim and Desiree Belzer of Columbus, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Eric and Jill Belzer and Erin and Mark Kistler; and four great-grandchildren, Thomas and Charlie Kistler and Brianne and Brett Belzer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters.

so i have been reading link after link and message board after message board! lol my name is matthew belzer and i belive i am a direct decedent of ludwig belzer. willis john belzer is my great grandfather i found out the other day. and from what i have read willis j belzer is edward w belzer's son, and edward w belzer is son of luis belzer, and luis belzer is a son of ludwig belzer. is this correct?
