I too have the same census, plus the 1856 of IA. I have more children listed for Nelson than the Alfred you listed. Plus McCarty's children. The info I have on Hosea has been handed down in the family. I know I don't have all the children. I have that he died in 1887, do you know if this is correct? Also buried at the Old Westbury Cemetery, Cayuga Co., NY. I have also done the land records in Butler Co. for Nelson and McCarty, which turned out not to be too much as they didn't keep very good records in the 1850's. My husband's line goes Hosea, Anson, Sarah (married to Charles Hicok), Samuel, Ada Fae (married to Edward Mulnix), Shirley Fae (married to Derrell Scott), Derrell Jr., my husband.
