If your father is still living, ask him where Patrick Claude Bement died, and what year. You could write to the town clerk where Patrick Claude died and request his death certificate. That certificate will list his parents' names on it.

Once you know the parents' names, you can search those records.

Other than that, you could check the social security death index, or www.rootsweb.com, or www.familysearch.org.

The idea is to start with what you know, and go back into time.
