My records have Ephraim S. and Edwin P. Bemis in Trenton,
Will County, Illinois in the 1850's.

I do not know the parents of either but from my notes-
"In 1860 Census, there are three adjacent Bemis families in Sumner, Bremer County Iowa.
There are many similar relationships/connections, such as the date and birthplace of children, dates
and birthplaces of Heads of households and their spouses. All three families apparently left NY prior
to 1850, passed thru Michigan before 1850, stopped for a few years (1851-1854) in Illinois and reached
Iowa about 1855. James N., b. NY, abt. 1825; Edwin P., b, NY about 1829; and Ephraim, b. NY about 1821
and possibly mother, Maria, b. NY abt. 1799. Only James N. and family are found in 1870 in Iowa."
