Mary Bemis(Beamis)in 1860 along with a Margaret Bemis is listed in the census in the state of Maryland with my great great grandmother and grandfather, John Proctor and Elizabeth Proctor. Mary Bemis is 85 years old, and Margaret is 45. Mary I believe was born July 29, 1776, and might be the wife of Jonathan Bemis or the daughter of Jonathan and Mary Bemis. In the census of July 1860 she is is being carried as a pauper;June 1860 in the household of Warren Bartlett in N.H. as a pauper; In 1840-50 she is in the household of Isaac Bemis in N.H. She is also a pauper in 1850. I believe one of my great great grandparents' is related to her. Not sure of the connection.
