Hi Keith, I also answered a query of yours on the wigginton board, so it appears we may be related. Wm married Elizabeth I Bemiss in Mississippi on Feb 23 1858. She was his first wife, and they had a Wm, plus an Elizabeth Bemis, also called Lillie. I am not sure which spelling is correct, Bemiss or Bemis. My mother said Bemis. At any rate, I am the great-granddaughter of Elizabeth (Lillie) Bemis Wigginton Armstrong. Elizabeth and William moved to Kentucky and then to Indiana, where my great-grandmother was born. Elizabeth died young, and Wm remarried twice. Email me if you like, about this.

I am searching for any information regarding Betty Bemiss. She was born CA 1830-40. She married William Wigginton and had 3 children: William, Lillie and Minnie. She may have moved to Indiana in 1863 where Lilie was born. It appears she died abt 1865. William subsequently moved to Louisiana with his sister Flora.

Any information would be greatly appreached as this is a dead end.

His dad was Charles E Bemis (also MI)...thats really all I know except a distant relative (also in MI) told me that she's gotten as far as the birth of one Jeremiah Bemis in Cayuga Co. NewYork in 1792. Thanks for the reply and hope to hear from you! Carrie Bemis-Howser
