I am trying to find out some information as to my family origen. My grandfather Leonides(or Leoneres)Benavides migrated to Milwaukee, WI., in the 1940's from Robbstown, Tx.,with his wife and family. His father died when my grandfather was a young boy. His mother, Maria Ventura Benavides remarried and became Maria Ventura Escareno. Both she and my grandfather are now deceased. I visited Robbstown a few years back and spoke with Jose Escareno the husband of my great grandmother. He couldn't recall the name of my great grandmother's first husband. All of my links to finding out the name of my great grandfather Benavides are gone. My great granfather died in the 1920's. I am told he was murdered, making my great grandmother a widow. Her maiden name is Maria Ventura Martinez. If anybody has any information I would appreciate it.
