Looking for Bernardo Benavides. I just found Melecio Benavides's death certificate on family search. It named Lucia and Bernardo Benavides as his parents. It listed them from Laredo which is where I was always told that Melecio was from. If Melecio was born in 1870 (approx) then his parents could have been born around 1840-1850...Any info on Bernardo or Lucia would be great!
Martha Benavides Lopez

Primo Jacob,
Matilde had 6 brothers and sisters as follows; Maria Mauricia, Maria Florentina, Guillermo, Saul, Albina and Guillermo. The 1st Guillermo must have died as a baby.

Apolinario had 2 brothers; my great-great-grandfather Luis and another brother named Jose Marcos who married Gabriela Duran. They also had a sister; Maria Florentina. I found a Baptizmal record for a Jose Luis but I'm not sure wether this is my g-g-grandpa or not.
Apolinario, Luis and Marcos' parents were Guadalupe Concepcion Benavides and Maria Refugia Rodela.
Guadalupe Concepcion's parents were Francisco Jacinto Benavides and Maria Vicenta Maldonado.

Hello Primos, Ms. Barrera and Ms. Gloria Rendon; Regarding the Benavides Family from Victoria, Texas and prior descendents. If I may be of any help in this area of the family, please email me. I may have some information that may be of assistance. This family has been connected to many of our present primos, However I had been researching this family tree before the internet came into place. I have traveled and worked many hours and years into this family line and have passed much of my information to a few. I would like for you to email me and share some information. You may have some information I need, and I may have some for your reference. Thanks and I may be reached on my cell at 713-206-3030. Happy Holidays.....

This is one more confirmation of the fact that all of us who have ancestral family roots in northern NM --> southern CO are all related at some point in history! Delighted to know we have another familial connection.

Question: you noted in your message Jose Cruz Benavides to Felipe & Patricia Sandoval. I'd entered your info in my database earlier. The info I had at that time only lists Jose Cruz to Celina. Will you send me the fuller info so that I can enter that as well? Million thanks.
Blessings.
Gloria C.

Could the Escareno family originate from Zacatecas Mexico.
There are not very many of us around and according to my mother the Escareno is a made up last name back from 1910
you can reach me at javila@haijac.com
You can also visit www.purovillanueva.com, where I understand the Escareno last name originated.
Or maybe my ancestor heard of this last name before he changed his last name from Tiscareno to Escareno. Now I wonder!

I am trying to put together a listing of all the descendants of my great grandparents Roman Benavidez (1849-1915) and Ramona Lopez (1863-1943). Roman and Ramona had the following children: Maria (Abran Gonzalez), Lucio (Juanita Garza), Jose Maria (Josefita Diaz), Andres (Cleotilde Perez), Fidela (Albino Garza), Pedro (Florencia Zapata), Herlinda (Gonzalo Ruiz), Rafaela (Enrique Tobar), Inez (Manuel Martinez), Rosendo (Evelia ?), Augustin (Luz Nevarez), Romanita (Amador Nevarez), Hilaria (Daniel Chapa) and an infant that was named also Augustin. Some of the descendants have changed their last names to Benavides. If you can help, contact me at tbosquez@stx.rr.com. Thanks.

Nov 4, 1902.
I have a copy of his Baptismal.
My grandfather's parents were Saul Benavides & Maria Refugio Appelzoller. My G-Great grandfather is Apolinario Benavides and G-Grandmother Maria Luisa Lucero.
parents of Matilde Benavides. Did matilde have any brothers and sisters. And what was my G-Grandfathers parents name?
I would appreciate the information for my family research.

My Benavides/Benavidez lineage is as follows:

Jacob A.
Yes, My Father was Melecio Benavides born in 1916 and his father was Melecio Benavides born in 1870 and he was married for a short time to my grandmother Juanita Ojeda ... they divorced and Melecio senior remarried your grandmother. My father was not raised by your grandfather but his half brothers came and introduced themselves to him and they had some contact when they would come to San Antonio...I have met your cousin via computer and phone... Eloise Stice. I have been trying to figure out where Melecio senior was from..my Father had said Laredo Texas but I can find nothing on it..I have a number from my mother for Lucia's daughter (your cousin) but have not gotten in touch with her ... my Dad has been gone now for 21 years so....alot of time gone by

HI, I THINK IF YOU READ THE 2ND AND 3RD POSTS ...YOU WILL SEE MARIA LEJIA WAS MELECIO BENAVIDES'S WIFE AND HE HAD MOST OF HIS CHILDREN WITH HER... WHEN MY DAD MELECIO JR WAS AN ADULT...HIS HALF BROTHERS LOUIS , JOHN ,& VINCENT BENAVIDES CAME AND INTRODUCED THEMSELVES TO MY DAD. SINCE MY DAD WAS NOT RAISED BY MELECIO BENAVIDES (SENIOR) ALOT OF FAMILY HISTORY ON THAT SIDE WAS LOST. MY GRANDMOTHER JUANITA OJEDA WAS MARRIED TO MELECIO FOR A SHORT TIME. ANY INFO YOU COULD SHED ON WHERE HE WAS BORN... HIS PARENTS NAMES WOULD BE GREAT.
MY EMAIL IS MMJLOPEZ@AOL.COM MY NAME IS MARTHA (BENAVIDES) LOPEZ
LOVE TO CHAT ...
